Cake Table (tablecloth)

Pamela, on February 21, 2023 at 12:19 AM Posted in Style and Décor 0 9

Hi.. I am trying to decide. I was thinking about a sequin tablecloth for my cake table. I'm just not too sure, it might be....tacky maybe? I was also thinking about satin. I am getting this item on my own because the venue does not have a tablecloth that puddles and I really want that look. I welcome your thoughts.Smiley shame

Rent the tablecloth from your caterer or a local party rental company. It’s cheaper in the long run to do so and you don’t have to spend money and time setting up, tearing down and reselling.

Wedding decorator here! In weddings I’ve set up sequin can be very beautiful! Too much of it definitely looks very prom-ish. One table with sequin should be just fine and look beautiful! But if I had to give my opinion, lace sequin table overlays are absolutely GORGEOUS! The add a beautiful pop while still looking very weddingly. Here’s just one example but there’s so many different patterns and colors. Since it’s an overlay you can put any color underneath it and it’ll show through. If your colors are blush for example, a blush table cloth with a white sequin lace overlay is so perfect! See if any decor rental companies can send some mock ups for more ideas! It’s cheaper to rent 👍🏻Cake Table (tablecloth) 1

If it’s solid sequins, it will probably look tacky. Definitely like the patterned one pp shared above. Satin always looks great but may not puddle on the floor like you picture since it’s can be a stiffer fabric. Definitely test out different fabrics and weights in store so you can pick the best option for your needs

Oh, wow! I never even thought of this! We're having a very small wedding dinner after a very small church ceremony, but the cake will probably have its own table. I was sure the restaurant would provide a nice tablecloth, but something extra special would be nice. I thought satin would be nice, although I like the look of the sequin overlay on another color. For my cake I think lace over a color (I'd like ivory over a peachy/pink as they are my "wedding colors"), might be nice. Thanks for the inspiration, brides!

I liked the idea of sequins too, but had the same reservations. We ended up doing satin tablecloths in our main color for the guest tables, a satin tablecloth in our secondary color for the cake table, and a sequined tablecloth for our sweetheart table. I think it added just the right amount of pizzazz without looking overdone Smiley smile
