Cake Topper After the Wedding?

I feel like my cake needs a topper but so far I'm not finding anything I'm in love with. What do you all do with the toppers after the wedding? Throw them in a box and never look at them again? Sell on Craigslist? Something fun I haven't thought of? I guess I'm too practical and if it's basically...

I feel like my cake needs a topper but so far I'm not finding anything I'm in love with. What do you all do with the toppers after the wedding? Throw them in a box and never look at them again? Sell on Craigslist? Something fun I haven't thought of? I guess I'm too practical and if it's basically going out the door after the reception that will change how much we want to spend on it.

Thoughts?

(Not to offend anyone that found one they love and spent a lot. We are just on a tight budget)

I put ours in a shadow box along with our ring box and our vows. The shadow box was also our card box for the reception

We're using the cake topper my grandparents used in 1953, my parents used in 1985, and my aunt used in 1992. I'm so excited! It's so dated looking, but it's perfect! We get lucky, it'll go back in the box for any other family who gets married.

Our toppers are His and Hers Venetian masks. They'll serve as wall decor, maybe wear them if we have a masquerade party some day.

I just got mine in the mail the other day and I'm in love. I have a bit of a map obsession, so I'm sure I'll find a way to incorporate it into our decor!

Ours is in a china cabinet in our dining room along with our engraved champagne flutes from our wedding.

We bought cake toppers that we adored and were about five dollars out of budget. My mom made it all worth it by showing us how she can make it into a Christmas ornament after the wedding (my FH proposed around Christmas time so this means a lot to me). I'm excited because I love sentimental Christmas ornaments.

@Jess I love that idea! I'm obsessed with commemorating important events with xmas ornaments.

We didn't love the idea of a topper and are having our florist do a flower arrangement instead. Just an option.

You can buy a cute set of salt and pepper shakers to use as a cake topper. Then they provide delicious seasoning for years to come.

@SquirrelsInLove OMG I got those little birds as an engagement gift from a friend! They are adorable just as decoration for anyone interested! I use grinders for my salt and pepper so they are on my wine cabinet

Ours is thin enough to put into a shadow box. That's what I plan on doing with ours.

Ours is going in our China cabinet. My mom always kept hers in there so it seemed natural haha

My talented bride made ours. After we are putting it on our dresser under glass to keep it dust free.

I bought a monogrammed letter for our cake from BBB for $10. There are a lot of affordable options out there if you don't plan to keep it. I do think they can be nice to display or pass down to future kids though. Do you have a family member to borrow one from? My parents kept theirs and we were gonna use it, but my mom is a redhead and I'm definitely not so I felt weird that the bride figure has like orange hair lol

Mine are clay toppers of FH as Link and me as Hufflepuff student on a platform with our wedding date. Figure we can display it somewhere around the house.

This was our cake topper. Our friend owns a 3D printing company, and scanned us to make this! He is now going to turn it into a Christmas ornament for us.

I wasn't planning on getting anything fancy, but then FH found these for $50 on BHLDN. Not sure what I'll do with them afterwards, but I definitely want to display them somewhere! They're too cute to hide in a box!
