Cake Topper After the Wedding?

I feel like my cake needs a topper but so far I'm not finding anything I'm in love with. What do you all do with the toppers after the wedding? Throw them in a box and never look at them again? Sell on Craigslist? Something fun I haven't thought of? I guess I'm too practical and if it's basically...

I feel like my cake needs a topper but so far I'm not finding anything I'm in love with. What do you all do with the toppers after the wedding? Throw them in a box and never look at them again? Sell on Craigslist? Something fun I haven't thought of? I guess I'm too practical and if it's basically going out the door after the reception that will change how much we want to spend on it.

Thoughts?

(Not to offend anyone that found one they love and spent a lot. We are just on a tight budget)

My topper was custom made - FH and I wanted it to be Zidane and Garnet from FF9, and nothing like that existed, so we had to have it made. It can stand on its own and it's super cute, so I'll probably keep it.

My FH and I are planning on using Pop figures as our cake topper. I saw it on Pinterest and we both loved the idea since both of our families are slightly obsessed with them. We didn't buy them yet since we just thought of the idea the other day but this is what I saw on Pinterest

We bought a custom clay topper. It's two birds in a nest. We'll put it somewhere in the house after for decoration and memories. It wasn't cheap, just under $100, but I think it's quite beautiful and worth the money. It also has our names and date on the underside.

I am feeling the same way...I don't want to have to wonder what to do with the topper after the wedding. I know we will never use it again...so we are doing fresh flowers.

We splurged on ours. It is from an Etsy shop. We plan on displaying it after the wedding. We are currently looking into purchasing another glass dome. One that is more compact than the one in the picture. We have been checking out HomeGoods, but so far no luck.

This is our cake topper. It's currently in transit to us. Found it on Etsy. The bride does have a veil, however it's hard to see it with the white background in the picture.

I couldn't find one I liked either, so we're probably just going to have flowers on top.

I bought this off Etsy for $30 with the base included. Afterwards I can break the sticks off and put it on a shelf somewhere.

We got a custom made clay from Etsy. We wanted something we'll get to keep after and use as decoration in our home. Etsy has a lot of options that are affordable

Ours is from willow tree so we will just use it as a keepsake figurine after. Maybe on a dresser or something

We haven't even gotten married yet and ours is sitting on a shelf on display in our living room. I ordered a custom "Fruit Bat" cake topper off etsy. It is bridal, but not excessively so. My FH loves fruit bats, so he is thrilled. I've noticed him moving it around to make sure it is at the best angle for viewing.

I didn't use one, just had flowers on top, BUT we had my husband's grandmother's topper displayed where we had family photos and gifts, which was cute (it looks very old). My brother wanted to use our grandparents' topper at his wedding but it is made of sugar and was turning brown. I guess there may be interest from your kids or grandkids one day, but otherwise, they might just be a trinket after the fact. I was more fussed about what the inside of the cake would taste like (delicious)!
