Cake/bridal Bouquet

Deanna, on July 24, 2022 at 8:46 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 19
Need advice!!! Bridesmaids, centerpieces, and my bouquet are red roses… would it look odd if my cake had white roses?
I’m torn because the cakes that I’m falling in love with are mostly all white with white roses, but yet I am not using white roses anywhere… My wedding is in November if that matters.
I know ultimately I should just do whatever I want but . thoughts would be greatly appreciated!

I think a cake with white roses would be absolutely lovely and not be weird with all of the other red roses. Maybe you can tie in the red somehow? Maybe your cake table could have a red tablecloth? Or maybe you can have your florist put a few red and white roses scattered on the cake table to tie everything in? But I think white roses will look really good and clean and neutral!

Well hello there and congratulations. I think you should ....since you like the white rose's use them, but add some red rose's in there to incorporate as much of everything as possible 90/10 the decorator could sprinkle 10% evenly around the cake it would be amazing. I love this post, I am a certified cake decorator but I will not be doing my cake.💜

Thanks so much!! I just really am not a fan of white and dark red roses together though. I included what I love for my bouquet, the girls bouquet and color of their dress, how I want my ceremony arch to look like, how I want my bouquet to look like, then a few cake designs. I did add red roses to the picture of the one cake and I really do like that.Cake/bridal Bouquet 1

Wow your inspiration photos are stunning. I actually think an all white/cream cake would look beautiful among all the red rose. You could always decorate the cake table with red roses or have a red velvet cake to tie in the red haha *yum*. I d go with the white cakes though they are stunning! Have fun planning!

These all look so pretty! I think white roses on the cake would look great! You could totally do a red tablecloth to tie the red back in, or do a silver tablecloth like the bridesmaids' dresses and sprinkle red rose petals on the table.

It is ok to not have them match your bridal bouquet!

the flowers on my cake were hot pink but i didn't have any hot pink ones in my bouquets

Hi Deanna, congratulations! I'm so glad you asked this question! This is something I've been grappling with myself. Red is also my color, along with black and pops of "bling" or silver. I, too like the all white classic, clean look of the cakes but I don't like fondant so I'm going for rosettes. However, there is an upcharge for this design. Like one of the PP's mentioned, I had my cake tasting and decided to go with different layers of red velvet and raspberry. Honestly, I think I'm over thinking it because people are going to eat it regardless. All great ideas posted and I hope you were able to decide what you will do. I'm in November as well (11/11/22)! Happy Planning 😊
