Cake/cupcakes

Hello, we have a huge wedding (210 people) we can’t decide how many cupcakes we should order. If we decide to do cupcakes we are going to get a cutting cake for just us. But some places I’ve seen, it’s way cheaper to get one huge sheet cake or tiered cake.
What is the etiquette when it comes to how much cupcakes or cake to feed people?

    You should order enough cupcakes to feed everyone, even though probably won’t everyone won’t have any and some people might double up. You want enough for everyone to have a slice of cake if you go the cake route.

    The baker you end up going with will give a good idea on how much you’ll need. Just give them your estimated guest count.

    I’m ordering cupcakes for my 100 people wedding and the bakery recommended 12 dozens. In your case, you should probably double that

    I think you should definitely talk with your bakery. But from a guest prospective, if they were full sized cupcakes, I’d only take one (especially if they were all the same flavor) but if you had minis with different flavors, I’d likely take two.

    We ordered a small cutting cake for my husband & I, & a bunch of cupcakes. We ordered at least 1 per person with a few leftover

    If doesn’t matter what you serve as long as everyone is fed the same thing and at least 1 serving per person. If it’s awesome cake, you will have guests go back for more.

    A fake cake with sheet cakes idle twice as expensive because you are paying for labor. If it’s cheaper, something isn’t quite right there.
