Calling African-american brides!

Mcellist, on March 4, 2018 at 10:09 AM Posted in Hair and Makeup 0 30

Hello to everyone! Now, to the subject of the post. I have some vague idea about what to do with my hair for the wedding day, but I would love to see your tested and approved styles. I originally wanted to keep my hair natural & curly, but my hair tends to dry out fast and I don't want it to be a frizz ball. If you have pictures of your style with the natural curls, let's see them! I posted this picture earlier today on another forum about growing out hair. Here's what I'm working with as of now, if I choose to go the straightened route.

So true. We're getting married in March, in TX. It could either be sunny 70's or rainy 60's. The venue has the flip option where if it were to rain, we could move the ceremony inside.

Your hair should be fine in March 70 degree weather. I am getting married Sept 1. 2019. I really want a slick ponytail. Which should hold fine in weather and for dancing.

I wish my hair would stay straight. It tends to puff up no matter the weather. I plan on doing some form of bun, updo, something where I don't have to have a fro by the end of the ceremony lol

I'm natural as well and plan on doing a natural updo as I'm getting married in August which gets very hot in NY.

This is my wedding hair inspiration. I just spoke to my stylist yesterday. She either gonna do a perm rod set or a straw set for the style. My hair will hold the style if it's not humid outside which I'm hoping for a nice weather day. 😁

    Hello!
Ok so my hair is natural, however I don't wear my hair in natural styles. I usually get my hair press straight or I get sew-ins. I will getting a sew-in for my wedding and styled this way!

It depends on the weather or season. If you are thinking summer I would consider an updo if you want to have it straightened out

My natural hair has a lot of shrinkage so i will add "natural kinky curly" extensions. I haven't found the perfect style yet

I also have natural hair, I decided to go for an understated updo. I will probably want the back more centered rather than to the side so I can do a big pretty hair comb and veil like the second picture.

I really want a hair pin similar to this. So I've been eyeing the bun as well.

I’m also trying to decide if I should wear my natural hair or a sew in. I think I’m going to try different styles for the next few months and then make a decision. This is one style that I’ve tried so far.

I have natural hair and will be getting married in July when it’s really humid. We have the option to enclose the terrace we’re having the ceremony in and using AC, so I’m not too worried. Here’s the inspiration for my hair. I had my trial two weeks ago but I will have it flat ironed first and then curled for a smoother look.
