Calling all Destination Wedding Vets!

Saquan, on March 26, 2023 at 10:39 AM Posted in Planning 0 2

Hi everyone!

I am curious to know what you decided to book first when planning your destination wedding. I have requested quotes for all-inclusive resorts from travel agents for 2025. I am sure that is too soon for me to get anything solid just yet so now I am just antsy and want to book other things but I feel like I can't because I haven't solidified the location or date just yet. Any advice on the best way to approach this? I am just too excited and eager to just wait on things lol.

The great part about all-inclusive venues is that you don’t have to plan and coordinate as much! But that also means there’s not much else you can do until you have the venue locked down with a contract and deposit. You won’t be able to pick a color scheme, flowers or decor until you know the colors/vibe/formality of the venue. And you can’t order STDs or invitations until you have the date and venue secured. You won’t be able to choose food options until you know what caterer you’re using, etc. etc. Unfortunately, there’s not much you can actually do at this point other than wait. The only thing I could suggest is starting a wedding Pinterest board where you can collect ideas that you can revisit once you can start making decisions.

I would just concentrate on narrowing down the locations you’re interested in, how many people you’re envisioning, and figuring out a budget because it’s never too early to start saving!
