Ok ladies, our reception centerpieces are themed, not color coordinated. Our theme is the Nicholas Sparks movies, specifically-

The notebook

A walk to remember

The choice

Message in a bottle

The best of me

The lucky one

Safe Haven

Each table will be a different movie, so I need centerpiece decor ideas!! Each table will have votive candles, and 3 quotes from the movie/book that we pick out that is that specific table. So safe haven will be one table, the notebook will be another, etc etc. Nicholas sparks movies is one thing we LOVE together, and the notebook is kinda our story. (Met as teens, had a crazy summer of being in love and best friends and then we lost touch for 8 years, and here we are again!) So we definitely wanted to incorporate that into our wedding. So give me some ideas!!! Smiley smile

The fact that it's my 2nd marriage should have nothing to do with it though. Making comments about how I shouldn't be so in love or wanting something nice because it's my 2nd marriage is irrelevant to what I asked.

I like the idea that all the centerpieces are the same, and then the books at the name for the table. Honestly the center pieces are the last thing that I remember about a wedding, so I don't think its going to be a HUGE talking point for those that don't get it.

We had a Stars Hollow/Gilmore Girls 'theme' running through our wedding and those that knew the show got it right away and those that didn't were not confused, we actually got lots of compliments from people that had never seen the show about how pretty the venue was and they loved the little touches that we added (which were Stars Hollow things and giving the Firelight Festival feeling with lights and lanterns)

Allison- I actually agree with you on that. I dont remember who said it, but its irrelevant to the whole theme topic.

FH and I love Nicholas Sparks movies also (even though he pretends not to) he even bought me the movie collection for my birthday one year!

I vote for the suggestion that you keep the centerpieces the same and having the table names and place setting to match the theme.

I personally like the idea and don't get why people are bashing it! Allison DID NOT ask for our opinions, she wanted IDEAS. @Allison, if you BOTH love it, then go for it. I found some cute quotes. I know you said No "Dear John" but I found a quote that might be perfect and it is from that book: "I fell in love with her when we were together, then fell deeper in love with her in the years we were apart".

Best of Me: "I don't have much to offer, but I promise you can have the best of me."

The Notebook: "Sometimes we need to be apart to understand just how much we truly love each other."

    eta: spelling

Not a fan of this as a theme, even if I am a Nicholas Sparks lover... But I LOVE any book that makes me cry.

That being said, I definitely think your centerpieces should all be similar, and that themes should be smaller touches of things.

I DID see some cute ideas for centerpieces where they have vases or mason jars on top of some books. The books in those pictures were more vintage style, so I don't know how it would look if you used newer ones. Maybe hard covers where you take the paper protector off and then just the titles show. I don't remember what his hard backs look like, so maybe not.. It's an idea though.

What if you had the centerpieces be similar, but added a couple of items to the table that have to do with the book? I personally like the idea of different centerpieces but if you go with the centerpieces being similar, I'd like the couple different things to go with it. I.E. The notebook: a miniature swan, mini love notes tied with twine. Message in a bottle, mini bottle with paper in it, ect.? (sorry, I haven't seen/read all the books, I'm not sure about all the items that could be used.)

For the centerpieces to tie in - use the settings of the books as inspiration. Sparks books are all based in coastal NC. And then add the quote. For the record, I was a Lit major and I have a huge soft spot for his books. It'll be beautiful!

Also as a bride who is almost a month out... don't make every centerpiece different. Even if you're having 10 tables or less that is going to be so confusing for you. I have a DOC and my head is SWIMMING. I would be so mad at myself if I had also decided to make individually themed tables.
