My FH is a nerd and I love him dearly... Star wars, marvel comics, he's a gamer... For our first Valentine's Day I bought him the Millenuim Falcon lego set. He said it was the best gift he's ever received. He really wanted a Star Wars themed wedding...

I did not agree to the Star Wars theme but I have been adding surprise touches to the wedding for him. He isn't really interested in planning. (Probably because I did not agree to walk down the isle to the Imperial Death March) I ordered him a Groom's cake that is in the shape of Darth Vader's head and I have done some other things to make the day special for him. I really want to add a touch of my FH personlity to the wedding and make him happy. He has this mind set that the wedding is all for me. He just wants me to be happy. Seeing him happy and surprised will totally make my day!

Does anybody have any Star Wars ideas that I can use to surprise him even more? Anyone planning a wedding with a Star Wars theme?

Thanks!!! Smiley smile

Oh! And instead of table numbers, we are doing planets from the Star Wars universe Smiley laugh

I love the idea of have storm troopers grab the groom Smiley smile i might just have to talk to the dark side from our neck of the woods lol. we also are going to tuck a couple of starwars things here and there. Were making chocolate mints for on the cake table(instead of a grooms cake as we have cupcakes) and he thought i should walk down the aisle to the same march as the other ladies(guys must think alike) instead i said we could go into the reception to it since it was his day too.

They are no where near my location, but i would just be over the moon (death star) if a Mandalorian, Storm Trooper and a Sith Lord came to my wedding lol. I think mom would freak though hahaha

My friend had a star wars stuff at her wedding. The groomsmen had light sabers & had a light saber fight. You could also get action figures (or Lego) star wars pieces. & place them randomly.

My FH is a member of the 501st here in Wisconsin and yeah they are everywhere! He wanted and entire star wars themed wedding and I refused. So we are going traditional, but adding bits of Star Wars into it. We are making a lightsaber cake cutting set here are the directions http://offbeatbride.com/2011/04/lightsaber-cake-cutter

We are also doing a star wars themed grand march...that is it so far, I wanted to surprise him and order a star wars grooms cake, but not sure it is in the budget. Smiley sad

While I don't think he can control your processional song, not to mention the implication that you are Darth Vader, what about a Star Wars Theme song for the recessional? My husband is a Star Trek freak and so for the recessional I put in the theme song from Star Trek Next Gen. Just like with all the Star Wars songs, they are instrumental and rather good rhythm to walk to. It's a great way to incorporate his obsession without clashing with your style. And since it's the recessional, it's more about you as a couple than just you as a bride. There were some giggles I think from the guests, but what better way to start a marriage than with laughter Smiley smile

I wish my FH would give me free reign. I think he's planning the wedding and I'm doing the "whatever you want dear". I think having a little bit of his personality all over the wedding would be awesome. You could maybe try putting the lego lightsabers into the boutineers or getting some of the light up ones from mcdonalds (be on the lookout, they only come out every so often) or have the guys wear lightsabers at the actual wedding. Good luck!

Have your father walk you down the aisle to the Imperial Death March.

@Jen H. That is wonderful! I was wondering if you have any more pictures of the claptrap card box? I've been searching online forever trying to find out if someone else has made one because we are trying to figure out how to make one for our wedding.
