What do you wish your wedding photographer did differently-- are there shots you really wished you had in hindsight?

Yes, I posted that. My photographer was AMAZING and he did a fabulous job. I, on the other hand, should have prepared better. It's important for you to know what shots you want so they don't get forgotten. Some photographer will ask for or accept a list in advance, but many of the pros on WW pointed out that a good photographer will just do their job and capture the moments, and shouldn't work from a list - that's a true and good point. But you should be prepared. For example, I didn't get one shot of just my mom and I. I have no idea how it happened but I've actually been crying over it all week haha. So just be prepared.

IMHO, if a photographer will not include all photos on your list, you need to move on. This should be discussed before signing contract.

Our photographer was amazing! We have some awesome photos but there were some that I wanted that we forgot about or simply ran out of time to get. I don't have a nice one of myself and my Mom, or DH and I with my Mom and Step-dad. I gave her a list but it was tough to get everything in within the time frame we had. Plus, we had to constantly chase down certain family members due to them wandering off so that led to certain shots not being taken. Give your photographer a list and as much information as you can about what you would like to see. I am bummed there were certain photos we did not take but then again we got many that our photographer came up with on her own that I am in love with, such as my avitar photo!

Our photographer was great! I do suggest doing research yourself first. Do you have angles you don't like? Do you have a "good side"? Let your photog in on these preferences. The one thing I wish I did was alter our schedule day of. Because of unexpected rain/mud, we didn't get to capture all the pictures I wanted. But that's not the photog's fault, it's just what happens with live events! We ended up with amazing photos still.

ETA: One thing I wish I did was talk to my BP before hand to discuss the photos. The GM had no effing clue what they were doing and it really hindered the process a bit. I finally had to have a tiny bridezilla moment and order them around to get the pictures done in a timely manner. Guys don't know what to do in pictures, so talk to them before hand if possible!

This is a pic of the comment my photographer (Tina) wrote on my Facebook. I was extremely happy with every picture she took! I only wish I could have afforded to have her take more hours of photos!!!

Have the album done before our first anniversary! We paid for it at the time of the wedding (part of the package) and did everything on our end (selected photos) but we still don't have it over a year later. And there has been no follow up re: when we will have it.

Mine was of the "photojournalism" style. I don't really like being photographed and my husband didn't want to spend all his time in posed photos, when he wanted to be hanging out with guests. I did photos with my bridesmaids beforehand, a couple of the groomsmen and the whole wedding party afterwards. Plus just a few posed family photos. It took me a while to like my photos, because I don't like photos of myself, but now I really like them and feel like they tell a story. It helps me remember the night.
