Your timeline looks good! Do you have pre arranged transportation to the hotel from the venue? In my area surcharges on taxis, ubers, lyfts are insane on NYE.

@pickles my family actually owns a charter bus company so transportation wise we are all set and super VIP for $0! One more thing not to worry about

OP that sounds great. You'd be getting a huge check from me if you took care of my dinner, drinks and transportation on NYE. I love going out for the holiday but hate the logistics and upcharge on everything.

@oliviap I will talk to the venue - I'm not positive if the bar will be open yet, but I'm not opposed if it is

People can get married whenever they want to. Guests can decide whether or not to attend. Neither group should feel guilty about how their decision affects the other group because we are responsible for our own decisions and the consequences of them.

I see nothing wrong with a NYE wedding. I also see nothing wrong with choosing not to attend a NYE wedding. To each their own.

And, I think your timeline is fabulous! I would love to party it up for your wedding!

I wish someone would invite me to a NYE party!! We usually end up doing nothing lol, so I would be pumped for an excuse to dress up and go out.

I think your timeline is great except it ends a bit early (understand your reasoning though obviously).

Love all the helpful comments this morning/afternoon - daytime posts only here on our for me haha. Excellent suggestions all and I will definitely think about the entrance snack/drink and discuss with my venue.

@MrsD How old are you? 21? Lol. How many people past that age really care about New Year's Eve and think it would be selfish? Not too many !

DesertPolarBear your absolutely right and I'm sure people will have a blast!

I swear some people on WW must be miserable in their lives .... so snarky.

OMG, what is wrong with people? New Year’s Eve wedding is amazing. If you don’t want to go because it’s a holiday, then don’t. Don’t be passive aggressive about it and then complain about it for years to come.
