My FH and I have decided to have a camp-out wedding in one of the state parks in our area. We are keeping it pretty bare and natural. We looked into tents, tables, and such but decided why not keep it fairly primitive. Food you can cook over the fire, guests can camp, RV (we are looking into RV capable sites) , or get a hotel room at a nearby inn if desired. Has anyone here done anything like this? How is the planning for that going for you? Or if you already had the wedding, how did it turn out? Any tips, notes, do's and don't you would like to pass along? Why did you decide to do a wedding like this?
Thanks for all the help and advice!

Off to see the Campground today! So excited!! We have been looking at all kinds of options for the wedding and keep landing on the camp-out. We are looking at adjusting a few things (looking into food trucks or catering for the wedding and morning after brunch and just DIY welcome dinner). We have one more venue option to see next weekend and then we make our decision and book. The campground is still FH and I's #1 choice though. Sorry, just had to share my excitement!

It was pretty difficult to plan out, but I got most of it in order. We ultimately decided to do something different for budget reasons, but I have to admit I am a little upset about all my plan not coming to fruition. I think it would have been the most beautiful wedding, but it just wasn't in our reach with other responsibilities at hand. I think if you are able to pull it together, it will be amazing! If you need any help, I'm happy to pass on anything that could be helpful.

We found a forestry campus that is super affordable. It's near a special spot for us and we had no idea they rented it out! Once the weather is nicer we will check it out. We will have to provide dinner and breakfast for those who stay, and we can bring in our own alcohol. There are bathrooms and let water. There are tables. We will have to rent chairs and an arch.

My main concerns are decor, lighting and sound.

We are doing kind of a camp out wedding. Our venue can sleep up to 64 indoors, with a huge home and buildings with commercial kitchen etc. then folks can camp or have rvs onsite. But we’re doing catered food for wedding dinner. Going to bbq for rehearsal.
i considered this route before we found our venue. I’d definitely bring in a food truck and look for somewhere with cabins (elderly etc). Such a fun idea!
