Can a boutonniere be too big?

How many inches is it? because even next to that remote for size, that remote looks small. i think mine seemed about that big.

It’s about 5 inches from the stem to the top of the flower

Does your FH have a jacket you can pin it to to test it? It's hard to tell what's "too big" without having them actually pinned

I would put it on a jacket if you can, to see what you think. I love the thistle, we had those in our flowers too!

If you are honestly worried, put it on a jacket like PPs stated. My FH buttonhole is a bit big imo -- but it's the deathly hallows front cover shaped into a flower to match my bouquet. If you like it, do it -- don't worry about others opinions unless you share them and the best way to figure that out is to test it on a jacket.

Definitely pin it to a jacket or hold it next to your collar.

Here’s a photo of it next to a suit jacket I think I like the size of it now.. still probably a bit big for some people’s taste but I don’t think it would look huge or anything. Thank you for everyone’s help!
