Do you have friends that are the opposite sex? If so, what boundaries have you set with your friend(s)? If not, explain why.

Yes. I have 4 VERY close make friends who've stood by me thru a horrificly abusive ex and are there by ny side with ny loving FH.
Does that mean they haven't said if I was single they'd date me- no. They would, but all 4 have Always been gentlemen and that's why they are still friends 19yrs later & have become friends with FH.

Yes this. 👏 . My fiancé is best friends with a girl. I would never ever ask him not to be friends with her. If you can’t trust your spouse to be able to handle any situation even if someone makes a move. Then you should not be getting married.

    Hot, hot, topic! LOL!

My FH and I subscribe to the "be friends but keep them distant" thought. While we both can have friends with the opposite sex we don't want anyone to get it twisted or optically get it all wrong. So our opposite friend relationships are very professional. LOL!! As to whether or not we ever get concerned about each other's "friends" the answer is no. We are both super comfortable with ourselves and each other and know that if something were to happen it would be because our relationship has mutually ended.

My husband & I never really had opposite sex friends to begin with. We are each other’s best friends. I have my group of girl friends and he has his guy friends, and we don’t see a need to have opposite sex best friends since we already have that in each other. We are still friendly with people of the opposite sex, but we believe it is more respectful to keep each other as the only deep, intimate opposite sex relationship in each other’s lives.

Platonic friendships can exist between people of any gender or sexual orientation, regardless of the relationship status of those involved. I've had good friends who are male, female, cishet, LGBTQIA+, single, or married.

Definitely! Someone who is going to cheat is going to cheat regardless of who they are friends with.

As a bisexual person, I have always found the assertion that married people should not have opposite-gender friends a little amusing. Am I just supposed to not have any friends at all?
