Can veils be dyed?

Kirstie, on January 5, 2018 at 6:13 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 8
So. My dress is ivory and I accidentally got a white veil... I'm worried the two colors won't look right together. The wedding isn't for 6 months so I have time to get the same veil in ivory but if I could just dye it that would be easier. Can this be done or would the dye not take to the netting of the veil?

This sounds risky. Have you tried exchanging it? If that's not possible I would buy the right color veil and try selling the other one.

Are they super different? Some whites and ivory’s are pretty similar so it might look good.

Well the veil was only $17.99 on Amazon and it looks beautiful. I'm not worried about ruining it because I could just get another one in ivory. I just don't want to have to wait another 3 weeks for for a new one to get here. You can see the difference in color when it's next to the dress.

Why don’t you order the ivory now, try dying the white one in the meantime, and if you don’t like the turn out then you have a backup. If you like the dyed veil better than the ivory veil, then return the ivory veil.

Well for now I decided to dye my veil. If it doesn't look right then I will order a new one in ivory.

Yes tea dying is what I was looking into. I watched videos of people doing that and they turned out great.

Some fabrics like this can be dyed. I would talk to a seamstress about it, they would be able to point you in the right direction
But honestly for $18 i would just go get the ivory one. You could sell the white one online I'm sure.
