Can we talk red lipstick?

I'm dead set on red lips for the wedding, but everyone is trying to talk me out of it. My MUA (who is a friend of mine) told me she'll do it, but it's going to get all over everything. I'm dead set on red lips for the wedding, but everyone is trying to talk me out of it. My MUA (who is a friend of mine) told me she'll do it, but it's going to get all over everything. Everyone else that I've bounced the idea off of other than friends my age think it's too bold. I wear bold lipstick every day, and wear reds at least once or twice a week. I just think a subtle pale pink or nude just isn't me.

I know we've been through this before, but what are everyone's thoughts on red lips at the wedding?

Since you wear bold lip colors often, I say go with it! If the make-up is done right, it should stay put for quite a bit.

I used Este Lauder Primer on top of my lips, used regular lipstick, and used an Ulta finishing spray and my lip stick was flawless eating, drinking, everything. Honestly the next morning my face still looked flawless! I was too tired to even think about washing my face! I didn't use red because I look like a hooker in red, so I'm very jealous you can pull it off! If you have a good under/over combo you'll be fine

A good red is hard to find. Estee Lauder Pure Color Envy Line in Envious is amazing. Luxurious and stays put.

YES! I love doing brides in Red. The OCC lip tar is perfect for this. It won't move once it's dry...not other steps necessary expect a good exfoliate the morning of. I like the popcorn lip scrub from Lush

Great topic for me today as I used a new red today. I used Nars velvet matte lip pencil in Cruella and loved it. It took at bit to get it right at first, but stayed on well for me. It has faded a bit now but that was 8 hours ago. It might leave a mark after a kiss though!

Della, after you put it on, take a bit of concealer on a small flat brush and run it around the lip line to clean up any spots where it went out of the lines, then use a beauty blender if you need to blend it out.. It works great without messing up your foundation.

Yay for red lips!! I'm wearing MAC's Ruby Woo over their Burgundy lip pencil to darken just a touch. Red is one of my favorite colors and FH's favorite color so I chose it for all my accents, necklace, shoes, earrings, bouquet, and of course lips. Everyone tried to talk me out of it but I love it. Go bold or go home, right?

I love the idea and if you have a good MUA, she will layer products so that the red stays put. There is no one magical red lip product that will do the trick. I will often do a red lip liner, then red lip stick (I like Make Up For Ever, any of the Revlon ones, or MAC Russian Red). I apply the lipstick, then blot with a tissue, then re-apply. Wear what makes you feel comfortable!

Red is my signature lip color, and I will most likely wear it on my wedding day. The absolute best red lipstick I've ever used is the Nars Velvet Matte Lip Pencil!

Why does everyone tell you to do what you don't want? I told who will likely be my MUA artist the opposite. I want a natural look, no lipstick and no eyelashes. She said eyelashes are a must and they're important for the camera. Ugh ok so I'll be blinking all day instead? No! If you want red lips do it, but I agree with the other ladies here use something that'll hold up all day.

You gotta do what YOU feel comfortable in! I personally love red lips and if you use a liquid lipstick like Stila Stay All Day or Kat Von D, there will be no transfer anywhere and it will last all night!
