Can you add things to your registry after the fact to get the discount...

Sj, on May 8, 2018 at 9:20 PM Posted in Registry 0 6
So we registered at 2 places, 1 of them being Target, and after your wedding we get the one day where we can buy things that hadn’t been bought off our registry and get 15% off. My question is if I add something to it now (after our wedding) will I be able to get the discount on that stuff? Can they tell it’s been added after? Since we registered at two places I tried to spilt stuff up so there weren’t duplicate items but now I want some of the things from the other place that I could get at Target.

I'm not certain. Honestly me being me I'd try it and see if it works.

I was thinking about doing this right before the wedding. They know when your event date is so I don’t know if it will work. Try changing the event date 😂

I mean it doesn’t show on anything I can see on when items were added so I don’t know how they would be able to tell. Hmmm

I know I was able to with our Crate & Barrel registry, but we also weren't restricted to one day after the wedding to shop at a discount. We were able to go in as many times as we wanted over the course of 6 months and purchase items off our registry at a discount a little at a time.

I was also able to add an item after the wedding to our Bed Bath and Beyond registry. Technically, it was an item that was already on our registry that I guess someone purchased and never actually gave it to us. My mom felt really bad that we didn't get it, so she asked me to add a second one so she could easily find it on our registry and order it for us.

If you want to know specifically if Target allows you to add additional items after your wedding date, the best thing to do would be to talk to customer service at Target.

What kinds of things are you thinking about adding later? My advice would be to add what you want now. As long as you have a good range of prices on your registry, you're good. You may end up being pleasantly surprised by what some guests will choose to get you as a gift.

We only added things later to our C&B registry after receiving placemats and napkins that ended up not being what we expected, so we added a different set to the registry and I went to exchange them. Or I added some nesting mixing bowls with lids from C&B after receiving a different set we had registered for at a different store and the quality was really bad, so I did research and found ones at C&B that we're what we really wanted, and I added them to the registry before going on to the store so they'd be elligible for the discount.

If you know you want it now, though, there's no reason not to add it now.

Well my wedding already happened... I want to add some things I registered for at Bed Bath & Beyond that weren’t purchased and now I can find them similar/cheaper at Target. Not everyone I invited had a Target near them which is why we had 2 registeries and I tried to make sure we didn’t register for similar items at each place, like a blender. Now that I didn’t get the nice BB&B blender I’d rather just get one from Target for cheaper. I was skeptical of asking Target directly because I wasn’t sure if it’s allowed. Thanks!
