Can you provide makeup artists your own makeup??

Claudia, on August 23, 2021 at 9:07 PM Posted in Hair and Makeup 0 6
Hey guys! I have had this question sitting in the back of my mind for a while. I have some makeup products that are tried and true for me or that I have been interested in using for the wedding day. But I don’t want to be doing my own makeup and plan on hiring an artist for the wedding day. Do you think it’s possible to provide your own makeup? I’m not sure if this is a weird request or how this would work. I am just genuinely curious!

This will depend on the makeup artist but most will be ok with it!

Especially for foundation, I know what one works best on me and which I'd like to wear, so I did check in with my makeup artist if she minded if we could use it, if I chose, and she had no problem with it. I brought along a few things and she said if I preferred them to what she used to just let her know and it wouldn't be an issue.

I know I have super sensitive skin so I had asked my makeup artist at the trial if I could bring my foundation and she had no problem with that.

You can ask at the trial but I wouldn’t guarantee they allow it. They are often using tried and true makeup designed for high definition photography that the average person doesn’t own.

You can certainly ask!! My HMUA asked if I had a preferred foundation and if I'd be using my own lipstick or if I wanted her to mix something up for me! 💄

But in general I'd trust their products!! They know what lasts longest and photographs well! The trial is also a great time for you to try out their stuff and see how you like it!

Thank you everyone who answered! I do realize that the products they use is what they trust most, but when I had my trial, the foundation melted right off my face in 2 hours. And this is with my dry skin.. I just want to insure that my makeup lasts all day and I have some products that do work for me. I will definitely ask!

Call or email with the results of what happened and flare if it can be fixed. Otherwise get a trial with someone else until you find someone you love.
