Cancelling our wedding. What do i do with my wedding dress and veil?

I spent a ton of money on my [dream] wedding dress and veil that I absolutely adore - but feel I would look absolutely silly going to City Hall in it. As a Covid bride, having everything taken away, I feel like I can't let this pandemic take my dream wedding dress moment away, too! Would I look like an idiot if I wore them??

For those of you who are pivoting and changing up your wedding - what are you doing with your wedding dresses?!

XO,

Heartbroken Bride

You should absolutely wear your dress!! It is amazing and you look gorgeous. Don't let COVID take away this opportunity to wear your dream dress. With everything going on, I am sure everyone at City Hall will appreciate a dress as beautiful as this one!

Personally I would wear it! Everyone knows how weddings are becoming increasingly impossible to have due to restrictions. Enjoy your perfect dress and veil since it’s something you can control. Luckily my venue is staying open for our March wedding but I planned to wear the same dress even if we did the city hall route. Enjoy your day!

Jessica, I, too have an autoimmune disease. My Dr has not allowed me to fly in several years (currently homebound and have been almost this entire year becausemy immune system is just too weak), but he thinks it'll be fine by April ( He knows me well and I trust him). I'm more worried about getting enough rest before our wedding, but I'll have 2 1/2 days to rest after arrival. He's an environmental specialist and treats people whom other doctors find untreatable. So I definitely understand. I wish you only the best and pray you have a beautiful, memorable wedding no matter where it takes place. xoxo

I agreed with everyone else on here, you should wear your dress. When you look back on the pictures, what do you want to see yourself in?

Just want to thank everyone for stopping by and taking the time to leave me a note. Got lots of great and positive advice that I will definitely be taking. I will wear my dress and veil - and I will not regret not wearing it one day! xoxo Smiley smile

Gorgeous dress, so sorry you hd to cancel your wedding. Are you planning to have a big party sometime in the future? If so, wear the dress then! Or you could do what I did, we cancelled our reception and are having a party on our 1 year anniversary instead. My husband and I put on our wedding clothes, got our bridal party together with our photographer and did a photoshoot. It was a nice way to get the pictures of us all dressed up

Wear your dress. Screw Covid-19. I would not cancel the wedding either. I would just cut down the guest list BIG time and follow social-distancing guidelines and have guests wear masks.

It makes me so sad to see couples who think they have to cancel their weddings entirely due to Covid-19. Honestly, as someone who works in public health, I assure you can still have your wedding day in your chosen venue. It just will not have as many people and a lot of folks will be wearing masks.

I'm wearing my dress even if we just do immediate family! I LOVE my dress, and I want the excuse to wear it! FH wants to see me in it, too, and we've agreed that, at least for the time being, we aren't going to plan anything else and just go with whatever is in store for February.

Im so sorry your going through this This!
This year has been crazy to say the least! Our wedding was rescheduled, now in March 2021 also, We are going to the courthouse this month to make it legal but im wearing a secondary lace dress i wore to my bridal shower. Im saving my huge wedding dress and we are going to do a dress reveal in March and still get dolled up and take photos with immediate family.

Please don't sell your dress! It looks beautiful on you. Like other PP's have sad, wear it to the courthouse and I love the idea of having a photoshoot afterwards. Please don't sell it. Its still your day and you can do and wear whatever you want. Its not your fault Covid happened. Wear that dress girl!

The dress you chose is absolutely gorgeous and looks good on you. I would wear my dress regardless of the change in location and schedule an awesome wedding shoot.

    Good luck and congratulations!
