Cancelling Wedding Until There is More Certainty-is Your Venue Giving Your Deposit Back?

AvocadoToast4, on July 21, 2020 at 4:41 PM Posted in Pennsylvania Planning 0 2

Philadelphia bride here! What event group are you using? Are they giving you your deposit back? What options did they give you?

Thank you for your help!

Hi there! Have you already started talking with your vendors about canceling? I would check what your existing contracts say about cancellations, rescheduling, and non-refundable deposits! I totally understand the uncertainty making you nervous, but chances are you'll still be held to that legal agreement.

Here are a few discussions where you can connect with other PA brides about their concerns and current plans - and see if they have any information they can share with you:

My venues and vendors allowed me to reschedule my wedding date without any hassles or any extra charges. I called my venue and they allowed me to have a backup date in case I had to postponed. When I postponed I used my backup date as my wedding date. Everything that we had planned for my August wedding, I kept for my April, 2021 date. I did the same with my vendors. I called them and let them know the new date. They were very understanding about the situation and they were willing to do my wedding. My venue and vendors sent me a new contract for the new date and I signed off on it. You will need to call your vendors and see if they are willing to work with you. Make sure that you read your contract carefully and go over them with your vendors to see what can be done. Good luck.
