I'm having trouble finding dresses for my candle lighters! What did you use?

Acolytes in a church? Don't they wear a robe/cassock anymore (they did when my brothers were acolytes)?

Unless you really want them to match your colors/your bridesmaids, let them wear what they already have. Otherwise, maybe Jr. BM style dresses?

Hailey, our candle lighters are the little girls that are going up and lighting the candles on the candelabra. Nancy, they don't ware the robes in a Lutheran church wedding (that's I've seen) Other than Catholic weddings, all the candle lighters I've seen wear a little formal dress and the little boys wear a dress shirt and tie. I found a pretty chiffon dress that was a Jr. BM dress, but the one girl doesn't like it!

Edit to add picture for example of candle lighters! Stole from google

I'd just let them wear whatever they already have, personally. Makes life easier, and there's no cost to anyone. Unless you want them to match your WP.

Kayla, it has been decades since my brothers wore the robes (yes, we're Lutheran, too). At that time, they didn't allow girls to light the candles (dark ages, I know).

Nancy, I've only been Lutheran since high school. And I'm only 22 now so I wouldn't know the dark ages! haha

I remember Catholic girls and boys wearing the robes from when I used to be Catholic.

Heidi only issue is I would like the girls to match, at least in color. They are 5 years apart so don't have the same clothes.

You don't want them to match, they aren't part of the wedding party.

Also, 22? Damn I feel old.

Yeah 22. FH is 25. I'm already through college, and have been working in my career field for a year though. You'd never guess I was 22 unless I told you!

My brothers wedding the girls had pink dresses as candle lighters to go with the color theme. We are blue and yellow so I would like them to have blue or yellow dresses to match the theme. I'm not asking for color advice just pictures of the style of dresses other gals are having candle lighters wear. I'm not putting them in a matching dress to my bm's by any means. Just a cute little blue or yellow dress as they will be a part of the wedding and they are FH's nieces.

I just don't know what 14 year old girls and 8 year old girls like! I've tried and got "its alright.." Which is her way of saying, "its horrible."
