Candy bar instead of wedding favors????

I've been to lots of wedding where the favors given to the guests were left on the tables at the end of the night. We don't want to waste money on favors that people are not going to like or take with them. We had the idea to set up a candy bar with candy from the 50's period since our theme is 50's...

I've been to lots of wedding where the favors given to the guests were left on the tables at the end of the night. We don't want to waste money on favors that people are not going to like or take with them. We had the idea to set up a candy bar with candy from the 50's period since our theme is 50's Hollywood glam. What do you all think? Good idea or is it just in my head?
