Can't decide honeymoon destination

Carolina988, on August 14, 2016 at 2:36 PM Posted in Honeymoon 0 6

We cannot decide where to go on our honeymoon. November would be tricky in some parts of the world. We want an authentic experience, and I'm not really the type to stay in a resort and lay on the beach. (I'm very fair skinned.) I'd love to see the Northern Lights and play in the snow, but I've heard Iceland and Norway don't have too many romantic places to stay. I'm envisioning snow and mountains and hot springs. He's envisioning more tropical and warm and beaches. We're open to spending half the time in cold and the other half in warm and both want to go to really unique places! Does anyone have any recommendations? I just don't want to go anywhere that will be dreary and rainy!

I am always biased towards Europe. Denmark, Sweden, Austria, Germany, Northern Italy. Then go to Southern Italy, Croatia, Spain, Greek islands. Or do your part of the trip in November and go to a state with beaches in the summer near you. We have some great beaches in America.

We are getting married the same weekend as you. Decided on Argentina. It will be springtime there, so the weather will be nice. Uruguay is a ferry ride away and has beaches, and if you fly south you're in Patagonia.

November can be a tricky time to travel. For the last few years I have had vacation time that month and so my FH and I have had to work around the kind of mediocre weather that exists that time of year. Many South American countries are a good option as they tend to be more equatorial and warmer year round. Ecuador was great. Easy to get around, safe, there are stunning mountains. Colombia is also fabulous. Great beaches, delicious foods and the tourist industry is thriving again, but in it's early stages, so it's not overrun with tourists. Morocco is also nice that time of year, but definitely no beaches there. But plenty of sand. lol. Also, we accidentally ended up going to Belgium/Netherlands in November of last year (long story) and it was surprisingly great. That is definitely more of a culture, beer, cool towns trip though. Bali is another great option. You can take ferries to other islands to see volcanos and on Bali itself there are some of the most beautiful beaches in the world. Hope this helps!
