Can’t decide on a date!! Please pick

Carly, on January 27, 2021 at 10:41 PM Posted in Planning 0 19
Our wedding is August 7, 2021 and we have decided to postpone to 2022 due to Covid, as there will be too many restrictions (No dancing, no standing with food or alcohol which means no cocktail hour etc)
We have to choose a Friday, as the only Saturday date in August 2022 a few vendors and friends aren’t available.

Friday August 5, 2022- I love that it’s close to our original date, beginning of August but our florist isn’t available so I would have to replace. The Monday prior (August 1) is a civic holiday so I don’t know if that makes matters worse or better for people as they will have to take a day off for our wedding.
Friday August 19, 2022- Mid August, hopefully the weather is just as nice. My bridesmaid has another wedding on August 20 so I hope she’s not overwhelmed.
Please everyone just pick a day!!! Majority Rules Hahah

Friday, August 5th! It just doesn't sound as hot as mid-August.

It sounds like both dates are problematic. However I think your bridesmaid would be extremely overwhelmed being in two weddings back to back especially if she is expected to attend a rehearsal for the other wedding when your wedding would be.

They definitely are. Sorry I should have clarified, she is not in the other wedding on August 20 she is just attending

August 7, 2021 is also my wedding day! I'm hoping we don't have to reschedule!

I would probably pick August 5, 2022. Again like you said closer to the 7th and then your bridesmaid won't have back to back weddings in the same weekend.

My venue actually let me put a secondary hold on 5.7.22 and 8.27.22 in case COVID doesn't improve. They said they are working with Spring Weddings right now and trying to come up with different options before they get to Summer Weddings. So I told them I'll keep my date for now, but I need a backup plan in place. I actually originally wanted my wedding in 2022, but my fiance wanted to get married sooner. And now the 8.7.21 has really grown on me and I want to keep that date.

I just found out I wouldn’t get my deposit back from the Florist which was $1,300. So that influences my decision once again

That definitely sucks. Have you tried talking to your bridesmaid to see how she would feel? It would be horrible if she said she doesn't think she could do both.

August 5th. Replacing your florist shouldn't be too difficult, and it takes stress off of your bridesmaid. Plus, its less time you have to wait Smiley smile !

Yeah she’s totally okay with it! She’s not in the bridal party of the other wedding and it’s only 45 minutes away. Plus I feel like she would be more tired for the Saturday wedding after mine anyways!

I agree but I don’t get my deposit back which is $1300. Not ground breaking but still something to consider!

It's completely up to you then, but I don't think I would want to be a bridesmaid in one wedding then turn around and attend another wedding the next day. It just seems like a lot.

Oh, I didn't see that in your original post. I probably would do whatever date would not cause me to lose my deposit!
