Can’t decide on cake

Cake was very low on our priority list, and can get really expensive really quickly! So we opted for a single round cake from Publix (grocery store) in our favorite flavor (white cake with dulce de leche filling) which is what we usually get each other for birthday cakes!


Then we ordered large sheet cakes also from Publix in three different flavors for guests. They will be cut in the back and then brought out to tables so no one will know they’re just big sheet cakes!

I've always loved simple cakes decorated with only buttercream, so we plan on just doing a white buttercream with some texture topped with fresh flowers that match my bridal bouquet! Something like this (depending on the final size we go with):

That's what I was hoping! Simple, but still matches in the ways that matter. The first cake is honestly the dream cake haha.

We had a cake design picked out, and then our cake baker retired, and we had to find a new one. So, we changed up our design a bit! Probably going to be something close to a mix between these two designs (though with a figurine of our cat on it instead of dogs).

We're only doing a small two-tier cake though, for us to cut into, and to bring back with us to enjoy in the days after the wedding. The dessert we're serving after dinner is tiramisu.

Im super picky with cake. I went with a baker I really enjoyed their cake so that was my main reason of picking my cake. During the consultation she showed me pictures and I found one I loved and she gave me awesome ideas on how to incorporate my colors.

I went super non-traditional- we're having a cookie bar instead of a cake! I'm still considering a small cake just for fiance and I, but I found this amazing gourmet cookie shop and am ordering a variety of flavors and will set display them in a cute way at the venue.

Our cake is included in our venues package, and they source out to a local well known bakery. There were flavors and designs we were limited to but there were plenty and the cake is not that important to us. We did pay additional to get a speciality flavor

100% just something we enjoy.

Husband and I had a to go cake box made for us with the 7 different sponges we requested, 6 different icings we chose and 6 different fillings. We kind of just did every arrangement of each until we found our dream cake flavor and taste. As for the design of the cake our theme was classic and romantic so we went with an all white cake with the bottom tier having a roses frosting designs and the cake decorated in white and pink real flowers in our color scheme. Our original cake was a two tier but out baker generously added two more tiers free of charge. We didn’t know about it until it was time to cut the cake and were so surprised.

We were definitely surprised because we were given such a hard time for wanting a third tier since our guest list was so small they said it would be a lot of wasted cake as a two tier could give 70 slices. And once they gave the fee for an extra tier we just dropped it and settled for a two tier. So we aren’t really sure where the change of heart came from but we are so grateful and definitely had too much cake left over! Our venue was sure the bottom tier or two had to be fake but it wasn’t and hubby made sure we took that cake with us to the hotel to eat! Lol

We chose flavors through a cake tasting and design is going to be white with some texture. Simple, it's not the centerpiece of the night and doesn't need to be extravagant!

Cake wasn't a big priority for me, I can take it or leave it but my fiancé was very hands on with this particular area lol. We ended up going with the 2nd cake we tasted at our venue open house. The baker works out of her home and is the sweetest woman in the world. We chose almond cake with raspberry filling for flavors because I love almonds and the raspberry filling is something we've been hooked on lately so we tried it out with our cake flavor and lovedddd it lol. Here's an example of the design:
