Can’t decide on venue!

A, on December 30, 2017 at 5:09 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 16
One venue is really pretty. A golf course clubhouse with a gorgeous reception room/bar. The ceremony space there is less amazing since it overlooks the golf course and I am not a golfer. They do the decorating for me and the preparation room for the bridal party is the women’s locker room which is nice, but not completely private.

The other venue has a gorgeous ceremony site with a beautiful gazebo. But the reception area has no carpet, and the floors are hard and not completely level in some areas. It also doesn’t have a dance floor. But it does have a private hotel room for the bridal party to prepare.

The price for both is nearly the same with the golf clubhouse being maybe $1000 more. I don't know which to choose. Smiley sad

You don’t seem happy with either venue. Can you look at a few more in your budget?

If neither of these venues are right for you, why limit yourself? Keep looking until you find the venue that has at least most of what you want, if not all.

Your wedding date is in September of 2018? Have you determined if either of these venues are available on that date? I would say keep looking but at this stage you really should have the venue booked.

I’m pretty sure it has to be one of these two. We aren’t having a large wedding (125 guests at most) and these are the best spaces for that size I’ve found. I’ve toured a few other places and didn’t like them nearly as much. I guess I can’t decide which parts to sacrifice/settle for.

It’s actually in July 2018 and both of these venues are available then. Smiley smile Things are a little rushed.

I would go with the first one. You will spend more time at the reception then at the ceremony. You can also get ready somewhere else if the locker room is not ideal. Either way I would book as soon as they are open again so you don’t lose out.

The reception area in the first choice looks beautiful! You are only at the ceremony space for 30ish mins, the majority of the time is spent at the party

I think you’re right. I almost want to have the ceremony at site #2 and the reception at site#1, but my fiancé thinks it’s too much of a hassle. He wants everything in one location. And site #1 does have a nice waterfall that I love.

These two venues are a ten minute drive from each other. 😊

I would look for a venue that has a happy medium between both venues.

Venue #1. Based on the pictures the ceremony sites are nice green spaces outdoors. While you’re not a golfer I dont see a huge difference in ceremony beauty. It’s not like one is a golf course and the other is on a cliff over looking a forest. They’re both beautiful.

If it has to be one of these two venues also think about which coordinator did you like more? We found a place we liked enough but we both clicked right away with the coordinator and that sold us.

I think we are going to go with the golf place. The only part I was not happy with was the ceremony space, but I think if I rent an arch or something like that it will be perfect!

I was extremely unhappy venue #2 didn’t have a dance floor since that’s where I hope to be a good amount of the later part of the evening. Smiley smile

Honestly in that photo, the golf course looks pretty much the same as an open park. I wouldn’t worry about it. Country clubs are beautiful and that looks like a very nice ceremony location. It seems like number one is the better fit for you overall.
