Can't wait to get married so that...

Being able to call him my husband! And being able to save for a down payment for a house so we can get out of apartment living! And of course babies!

So I can have his AND my sons last name!!

Since we recently brought a house and started living together I think we are having that period where we should be married. Not that I care what others think, but im sure ppl think "you're practically married" with hundreds of thousands in with the house, getting ready to buy a car together, living together, years together. I know there's more (spiritually, physically, emotionally, legally) to being married but right now I feel thats the only thing missing. I am not in a rush to have babies right away

So I can stop saying fiance! I hate that word!

Change my last name!! My last name is so long (12 letters) and difficult to pronounce. My students don't even attempt it! My new last name will be super easy to pronounce

EDIT: Mayhem, I also hate the word fiancé. I keep calling him my boyfriend and people are starting to correct me. The word fiancé just sounds weird.

So that we can get a house!!! I am so sick of renting!!! I want to decorate, garden, have OUR home. Also, so that we can start for baby #2!!!

1. the honeymoon and 2. The summer following the wedding I'm saving as much as possible and then quitting my job and we are going to hike the Appalachian Trail while we are still young enough to do it/ before we have kids! Crazy I know haha.

@Mayhem I'm right there with you! I hate the word fiancé I just use boyfriend. @MrsBest yeah I'm quitting my job after the wedding also. I'm counting down the months.

I get more money in my check. FH is on my insurance as a domestic partner and they tax the F out of me for it.

For so many reasons that others have said. To not have to talk/worry about/spend money on the wedding anymore. For the honeymoon, to start to buy a house, to finally be husband and wife. But more than anything, the same reason as you OP. I have been very unhappy in my job for the past year, and it has gotten worse in the last few months or so. But I didn't want to start looking for a new job before the wedding. I needed the set vacation time for the wedding and honeymoon, and reliable paycheck. I plan to start looking when we get back from the honeymoon.
