Laura, on July 1, 2011 at 4:33 PM Posted in Planning 0 14

With all the stress and chaos I can't wait until I am married and FH and I can start our lives. Im to the point where all I am doing is rethinking every idea and vision I had when planning the theme and feel of my wedding. But can't go back now... So the show must go on!! lol Is anyone else feeling this way about getting married...? Specially late summer and fall brides...

    Hi Laura:

9 times out of 10 all brides feel this way the closer she gets to her wedding day. Take time out for yourself - like having a spa day or sometime just for you. Talk to your planner (if you have one) or even a close friend to "vent" about it. Everything will be ok!!! Just think in a few months you will be happily married and can have the time of your life being husband and wife.

Much success to you and your future husband

Yes! So far the wedding is a huge stress. I gave up for awhile, now I'm back with it. I think it's best to take a small break and then see how you feel about things.

Oh my God, YES! We have been planning this of almost a year now. And as much as I appreciate having the time to save $ and plan while working and doing all of the other things that you do in a normal life, I am so ready to be married and moving on with the other things that are down the road for us. Also, will someone please ask me about something else that is going on in my life BESIDES the wedding plans? I do have a career! I do have other interests. (ooops, sorry, realized I just vented.. I think I needed it!)

On the upside, all my married friends say this feeling is normal and your wedding day really is worth all of this. Rumor has it, you are so happy and excite that you forget everyting else and have a wonderful day! I choose to believe the rumors!

I can't wait either - I've been told that I'm pretty calm & collected for all that is on my plate right now (moving home, planning a DW & a reception back home, planning a surprise trip home for my brother, teaching summer school, looking for a job & looking for an apartment in DE with FH then moving after the DW right before the reception). I'm just ready for a vacation with my FH!

Actually, the show DOESN"T have to go on; not if the whole thing is making you insane. I had a client a few weeks ago that simplified everything she could and had a much more enjoyable wedding than the extravaganza that she originally planned.

As far as rethinking your decisions? Your guests are only going to know what you put in place to make the day as beautiful as it will be. They have no idea what color, what dress, what centerpiece got left on the cutting room floor; they'll love what you picked.

And do take some time for you and your FH to do some NON wedding related activities together.

We are going to the beach for a much needed vaca! My family and I have gone to the beach every year and my FH hasn't been on an actual beach vacation in a decade so I can't wait for that...oh and to top it all off I got in a car accident this weekend and my car was totalled. nice right..? grrrr this is just another funk that I have gone through in the almost 2 years of planning this day. CANT WAIT!! Smiley smile

Yes! Even the small, intimate affair that we have planned seems to be taking over my life (and finances) completely. I have been wedding-obsessed all weekend because I just want to have it all planned so I can enjoy it.

I have given myself away before as an AA member, so I can say now that I am SO GLAD to have picked my sponsor as my MOH!! She, FH (a fellow in recovery), the rest of my AA friends, and all my friends at church are great at helping me stay sane and put first things first.

Yes I at times feel this way but I know in the end i'll be happy I stuck with it. My fs is good about letting me vent & taking me out to get away from the stress. Though at the moment most of my stress is related to a brand new job I just started and having to flip flop my life ...

We do plan on doing a couple of things in the next few months because the stress will really begin to pile up ... and yes my church is STILL stressing me out! I threatened tonight to do away with the whole Catholic church wedding and just get married in a ceremony at the reception site ... yeah my Dad didn't speak to me all night ...

I think in a few weeks, we'll go camping, then my cousin's getting married so though it'll be tied into our last wedding planning trip, it'll be a few days to just forget about our own wedding ... and I'm hoping to get to a theme park this summer, nothing better than screaming my head off on roller coasters to relieve some stress

That's why I just changed my wedding from Dec to July 8. Just got tired of thinking about things and stressing. It will be me and him alone no family, no firends.

I have 51 more days to go and I completely agree with the stress. Thank you all for your comments. I needed to feel normal amidst all the stress.
