Captain's Table Logistics?

Sarah, on November 14, 2021 at 10:27 AM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 4

My FH and I are choosing to do a captain's table that will be placed on the middle of the dance floor. When the head table is done eating, the hall will dismantle the captain's table and open the dance for first dances, etc.

If this is the case though, where does the wedding party go to sit? Do I need to have an extra table that will be empty during dinner for the wedding party?

Any help or past experiences with this is much appreciated!

Because of all the unnecessary moving parts that this would cause I would just have either a head table or a sweetheart table.

What is the difference between a head table and a captain's table? Lol. I agree that I would have the BP table in a place it can remain all night so people can have a place to sit Smiley smile

To me this seems complicated and that the guests will see a lot of moving parts. Is it possible to do the same idea but move the table to face the guests and/or place it where it doesn’t have to be move?

Hi Sarah! I'd definitely think about having another empty table that your bridal party can use once the captain's table is broken down and removed. That way there is still a place for them to sit and leave their purses / scarves / etc.!

Or I'd ask if they can set up the captain's table at the front of the room on the edge of the dance floor - but not taking up the dance floor space - so that you don't have to move the table or worry about those extra logistics!
