Card Box Alternatives

I'd like to have something other than a regular card box displayed for guests to put their cards in. I would like something that's contained and "safe". I've searched a little for a birdcage and found this on etsy, but it's $200. What are some different ideas you have?...

You can also get way more affordable bird cages at hobby lobby!

Plenty of options out there! This was our card box, my husband made it. It had a lid on top with a slit cut in it for cards. It's now a planter on our porch.

I bought a pretty wooden box from Michaels (when all the fall stuff came out!). I realized it needed to be "closed" so I tacked some ribbon to make a top. It's not particularly unique or creative but I like it. Smiley smile

We had a card box but it was made up like a Mario coin block - it's now our coffee table centrepiece.

... also some of these card boxes are amazing. I love the mailbox especially, and I really like the tree trunk.

I found a little birdcage through Oriental Trading. It's not the highest quality, of course, but it doesn't look cheap at all. Ours is black, but I think they also had white online when I ordered ours. It was something like $18 I want to say...under $20 plus about $5 for shipping.

We found this wine crate at a vintage market. Only $50! I plan on using it as a memory box after the wedding.

I got this from Michaels, painted it. Took off one piece on the top. And my dad used a handle to make a lock!

This might be a little "old school" or not modern, but I bought a card wristlet (I know that is the incorrect term but am unsure of what it is called) You can get one on ebay, craigslist, party city, etc... It is white and silk and will be around my maid of honor's wrist so she can hold all of my cards for me throughout the night. That is the safest I can think of and I will know where all my cards will be at the whole time with no worries of stealing.

I was going to suggest the mailbox. They are like $20 on Amazon.

These are some great ideas. I am trying to figure out what I want to do for this. Keep up the suggestions ladies. I like the lanterns and bird cage ideas.

We used a vase like this but with flowers on the table instead of on the top.

I'm buying the Socker greenhouse from Ikea and then spray painting the trim copper or gold. It's only $20!

I'm considering using my late mom's cow mailbox since we are having a rustic southern wedding.
