Cardigan/Shrug to go with Bridesmaid Dresses

MrsFlamingo, on June 26, 2015 at 1:44 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 10

Hi everyone

How are you? Hope you are all well.

So I'm having difficulty trying to find a cardigan/shrug to go with the bridesmaid dresses.

All my bridesmaids have said they want something to cover their arms- and I just can't find one that suits the dress. The dress is made of silk and has a corset lace up on the back.

Does anyone have any suggestions or ideas?

Thanks Smiley smile

Where in god's name are you having an August wedding that you want people to be warmer at?

What about a pashmina scarf? I bought them for my bridesmaids at Khol's for about $10 each. I can understand some bm wanting more coverage in a strapless dress even in August, especially if the wedding is indoors in cool ac.

I'd go with a silk scarf instead. Something light like an evening shawl. Here's some $10.99 on Amazon

I wrote above the Bridesmaid's requested it. I'm aware of the hot weather and so are they here in England.

They want something to cover their arms. I'm not trying to make them warmer.

@Natalie- a pashmina scarf sounds good. I'll check it out. Thanks Smiley smile

Pashminas, for sure. you can even get them embroidered with their monogram or their names! Etsy is a great place to find them.

But I agree, August wedding and want more coverage??

More coverage during August is not a good idea. You don't want your bridesmaid sweating.

Etsy has some pretty lace boleros that you may want to check out. If they requested this, though, could you just tell them to find something on their own? Or are you wanting them to wear the same thing?

Yes, my FH's brother is getting married next month and his sister bought a shawl to cover her arms because she thinks they are huge. So yea, people do cover up in the heat.

Anyway, I second the pashmina idea.
