Cardstock and printing

SoontobeMrs.2017, on November 16, 2016 at 1:01 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 7

So for our programs and menus I plan on just getting a file from Esty and printing them myself. I'm by no means a DIY person so I need some help. I'm trying to find some cute cardstock but not sure where to get it from. Also I'll need to print these, so is it better to print them yourself or go somewhere to have them printed?

We printed our own stuff. Bought card stock from michaels and printed at home. Granted you could go to a print shop so it's more professional! Esp if you have a fancy background

Depends on how much you need. A few sheets? Michael's or JoAnn has plenty! Need more than 20? CardsandPockets.com is a good choice.

I was about to suggest cardsandpockets.com super affordable. We plan on doing the menus and maybe the invitations ourselves as well and I will be buying a template off of Etsy as well.

Thanks ladies! cardsandpockets.com does seem pretty affordable and they have more options than some other places I've seen.

I got a packages of 100 sheets of shimmery paper at Michael's with a coupon for $3 I used for my STDs. It's really nice, and although thinner than cardstock, still thicker than normal paper.

@Almost: Those are usually 80# cover stocks. STDs and invites are usually 120# stock, and the thicker stuff can go clear up past 180#.

I spent 3 years working in a copy shop, and I learned SO MUCH about papers and composition of things like invitations!

I got our paper from Paper Source. I received a special coupon for being a first time customer, and bought all of our envelopes as well to save even more. They have a mix and match option for buying in bulk as well.

I will say, printing at home can be a little tricky sometimes. You will need some patience!
