Aimee R (formerly Aimee B), on April 4, 2012 at 3:00 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 23

Is this tacky?

Thoughts?

I actually think it would be fun. No different from a photo booth @ a wedding to me.

    Super cute idea.

My only recommendations is ensure you find one that is not only good but fast as well. You'd hate to have a line developing waiting for one or guest complaining that they spent more time in line for one than enjoying the wedding.

Ya I will have to think about that, maybe there is a way to coordinate.

I just wasn't sure if it was tacky or more for somethingl ike a birthday party etc.

I thought it would be cute.

FH thought it was a terrible idea and it would feel like our wedding was a circus.

We talked about it. Smiley smile

I think if you're having a casual or vintage-y themed wedding (which I kind of feel like you are if I remember right?) then it could work really, really well.

Would people get to take their caricatures home or would you want to keep them as a guest book type of thing?

We are having one for a few hours during the reception along with a goof booth. Our wedding will only be about 60 people total including the bridal party.

We had one and it was awesome! She was very quick, and it was something great to do for the people who aren't big dancers. Plus the back and forth of the people watching her draw with the people sitting for her was hilarious too. And for me, it was pretty cool to see my guests change their facebook pics to their caricatures in the days following the wedding Smiley smile

Ours also did our signing board (I wish I had a good picture of it signed).

We also had a photobooth and I think they were very different experiences. The photobooth is quick and can be very silly. Our artist didn't take the silly approach to the caricatures and the ones I saw were all quite nice renditions!

So he said he could probably get at least 100 done and our guest list is about 125 (ish). So looks like it could work!

Aimee~you live in Newburyport, Mass?! Wow, my uncle lives there; did you ever go into Ashley & Barnes furniture store before it closed? That was his store.

$200 for the whole night? amazing. im going to keep shopping. We cant do a photobooth bc of interior space constraints, but an artist could sit on the porch or lawn.

    Thanks for the inspiration

    Hi Blair!

I do. We just moved here about two years ago so I had never been there. We spent our first year here renovating our entire home we purchased. It's a great area to live!

And we are running into the same issue, space but we are going to our venue tonight to double check if we have room for a photobooth too. We shall see!
