Casual mother of the bride

She doesn’t need to be in a dress - there are dressier jumpsuits or slacks for instance, maybe run those by her see how she feels?

My stepmom is going to wear a pant suit or maybe nice pants & blouse. His mom says she’ll probably wear the same thing. Neither one of them likes to wear dresses.

Have you tried talking to your mom about your concern to see what she might be comfortable wearing. I know my husband's one aunt hates dresses so she wore dress pants and a floral dress shirt to our formal wedding.

Dressy pants and a nice top? Like business casual/Sunday best type wear. There is no rule anywhere that a dress is required.

No, my mom's not like that but I am lol. I recommend you suggest a nice blouse and a pair of slacks for your mom. Macys, Nordstrom, Ann Taylor, even goodwill should have some options

My mom is very much like that. She's also runs the office of our family owned shop. She wears jeans every day and will get dirty sometimes from working in a shop environment. I suggested pants suit or something, in case she didnt want to wear a dress. She said no you're getting married I'll wear a dress. But she's a grown woman, she can do what she's comfortable with.

I've never seen my mom in a dress; jeans and a t-shirt all day everyday. She wore a nice pant suit to my sisters wedding years ago and I'll assume she'll wear one for mine, too. Maybe ask her what she'd be comfortable in (aside from jeans!) and go from there.
