Catering Costs - How much per plate are you spending on your guests?

How much per plate are you spending on your guests? Our wedding is edging closer to 24k with 29% of cost being tied up in food. We're only serving dinner no appetizers and this does not include any alcohol on bartenders. Based on what they included it seemed like the best price, but now I'm not so...

This thing is getting expensive.

We paid $80 per person which included three passed apps during cocktail hour, dinner (buffet/stations), drinks (including alcohol), cake, and a late night snack which was a nacho bar. Our wedding was Pre-Covid so buffet style wasn't a concern. We also had a candy bar that our decorator put together, but that was included in what we paid her so I'm not sure how much it was just for the candy bar. If we had wanted a full plated meal, it would've been a lot more.

Price per head varies WILDLY, depending on where you are.

We managed about $150/head, which, in NYC, is a steal.

We're paying around $400 per head but this includes Hors d'oeuvres, a 4-course plated meal, and the open bar.

Ours landed at $207 per person. That included three passed apps, two cocktail hour stations, 4 hour beer/wine/signature cocktail open bar and reception buffet with a salad, three proteins, a pasta, two starch sides, vegetable side and a variety of mini desserts.

We are 15.00 pp for dinner (BBQ plated dinners - 2 options) , **** pp for the bar (we haven't decided if we are doing beer/wine/soda open or OPEN open), and 3.00 pp for cake. We are expecting around 80 people.
