Catering Guest Count

Cassi, on July 1, 2019 at 2:20 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 7

Hey Guys!

We are doing a Taco and Fajita Bar (which I am super excited for)! But its setup like buffet style. We pay per person ($12.95 a person). Besides the actual guests what vendors did you factor in for food. i'm assuming Photographer and DJ but do you factor in bar ( I was a bartender and never received food at events I served at). Any other vendors?

If you have a coordinator (either full service or day of), they should get a meal. Also, if you have any musicians playing at the ceremony or reception, they should be fed also. Not sure about bartender. Is it a private bartender provided by you? If so, you'll need to feed him/her. If it's a bartender provided by the venue, then I don't think you have to feed them.

We're providing a meal for both of our photographers, videographers, DJ, and DOC team. I wouldn't worry about the servers or bartenders or anyone who will only be there for <4 hours.

Photographer + assistant, videographer + assistant, 2 DJs, and coordinator. So 7 vendors total! Our bartenders are there from 5:30-10:30 but they work for the venue so we don't provide them food, and we don't provide the caterers with food.

Its an outside vendor (My venue doesn't offer vendors) but they will only be there 5 hours and will be serving drinks through dinner so wasn't sure how that worked. We have one bartender (maybe a togo box?) lol. I planned on doing Photographer and assistant and DJ and his wife (his assistant). I don't have a DOC or planner and I don't have a videographer. I have an officiant I offered to stay but he declined and I think those are our only vendors? lol

What you have sounds right as far as just the photographer, DJ, and assistants. The caterers aren't meant to get a meal on you. I have never seen this at any type of event I have been to! If you had a DOC they might not have required it anyways. Well mine comes with the venue and she said she doesn't need a meal.

Check your contracts! For us, everyone who needs a meal said it in their contract. If they require one for their assistant, that's in there too
