Catering Recommendations

Sarah, on June 8, 2021 at 9:03 AM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 5
My fiancé and I are getting married on 10.29.22 in Topsfield Massachusetts. We are looking for catering recommendations that are affordable we would like to stay under 5,000 for the catering. Any recommendations would help!

How many guests? I don’t live too far from there and might be able to give a few recommendations but don’t want to suggest anything that will land you over your budget.

I would look into drop off restaurant catering for that price and that many guests. I think Supino’s does catering trays and their restaurant has great food!

I would really recommend against looking at reviews online. From my personal experience, I have been witness to sites like WeddingWire, The Knot, and Yelp all remove Negative reviews. If you look on the reviews, you will notice that there may be one or two recent good reviews, and then all of the other great reviews are from three or four years prior. The best way to at least try to get a great caterer would be to go in there and Ask for a tasting. Tell them that you want to try absolutely everything that you will be served that way you don’t run into issues like being served the wrong thing or “miscommunication” between you and the caterer. I would also ask for three of their most recent Catering references that are similar to the event that you are having. If they cannot produce or provide you with three references within a years time span of weddings that were great, then I would suggest moving on to another caterer. These are all things that I wish you were told to me and my husband before we had booked with our caterer. This might sound extreme… But trust me, this is all very acceptable to do. Also, take pictures of everything! And also I’ve found that communicating via email is much much much much better as far as a safety net goes for you then phone conversations or in person meetings because you have everything in their own words saved with emails.
