Catering

Hey guys. Whats your average price for catering? I have two places and they told me around 2657 or 3567 for about 85 people that’s with cocktail hour included. What’s your opinions?

That sounds very average, even inexpensive in some higher cost of living areas.

Both are incredibly reasonable. The first wedding we had planned in Chester County, PA was a little under $20,000 for catering Smiley cry . Now we're spending about $5,000 in Dare County, NC.

That doesn't seem very expensive. We paid $120 per person total and that included all food (cocktail hour & dinner), dessert, alcohol, service staff, coffee bar with dessert, and rentals (china & linens & display). For just the catering company, we paid $62 per person (service staff & dinner & cocktail hour). The rest was through our baker, venue, rental company, etc. The catering wait staff included 10 people. That doesn't include venue cost (venue provided table & chairs) or things like flower centerpieces, menus, etc.

Assuming the tasting goes well, dinner will be $30pp/ $12/kid for our wedding (taxes, gratuity and plating included). Add in open bar and we're closer to $60pp .... Smiley ups

I know that's reasonable for the wedding industry but damn it still feels like so much money. 4k on food and drinks is tough to swallow to matter how you slice it.

It really depends on where you are. Where I am, that wouldn't even cover the site fee, but in many places, it would cover everything.

Wedding Wire has a nifty tool to help you figure out the average costs in your area, under the Planning Tools link.

    Good luck!

My catering is $1500 for 30 people. It Includes 4 types of appetizers, a buffet with chicken, steak, pasta, salad, bread and butter in chaffing dishes with a server. We are supplying our own cutlery and doing a self service bar. That was the lowest I could find and I’m in Southern California

I’m in North Carolina and I feel like everything is a little expensive. Even if I got one appetizer and one meat it’s still like 2000
