Cathedral veil or fingertip?

Sherin, on August 8, 2021 at 12:18 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 12

Hello everyone! I just finished my first fitting (things are getting so real!) but wanted some thoughts on the veil that may best fit with this dress. Neither of these veils are the 'final' veils but just using them to see which length works best with the dress style. The back of the dress has a lot of detailing and cathedral type train which I love. I had always envisioned a long cathedral type veil as well with some lace appliques, but I am worried that it may be competing with the train/covering up the train from being fully seen. The finger tip veil avoids this issue and showcases the train, but I feel like it may lack some of the drama that a long veil could provide. Would love everyone's thoughts!

Also, the train is not properly laid out on the floor (blame my constant moving lol, but hopefully you get the idea!)

I really like the fingertip veil because it still allows you to see the detail on the bottom part of the dress!

For some reason I'm having issues editing, but just wanted to add that I'm getting married in a church, will be using the veil for the church, but no veil, and train completely bustled for the reception

I feel like the fingertip veil works better, the cathedral veil is pretty however the veil and the train end up competing with each other and you loose the details and impact of both

I think the fingertip would be better, the cathedral would distract from the bottom of your dress and the train. I feel like if you didn't have a train you could do the cathedral length

I think the fingertip veil would go better based on the back of your dress

I have to agree with everyone else and go with a fingertip. It allows your dress to shine

I looove the way the cathedral veil look, but yes it hides the details on the back of the dress.

I would let the dress shine and go with a fingertip veil. The back of your dress is not only ornate, but also has a significant train on its own.
