Do you and your partner celebrate Valentine's Day? Or do you skip it? If you celebrate it, what do you do to celebrate?

We usually just do something small. Yesterday we made a light dinner and snuggled on the couch for a movie. We're not really materialistic people, so we've never really celebrated it with gifts or fancy meals

Sorry to hear that you tested positive for COVID! I love the idea of doing something small for Valentine's Day. Getting used to calling him the new title of husband is sooo exciting!! I felt the same way for a while after my wedding - whenever I introduced my husband to someone, I was so happy to get to refer to him as "my husband"! Congratulations on your first 2 weeks of marriage!!

Definitely a great reason to go out on a date! Very cool that you get each other little gifts too. What types of things do you get for each other?

Both of those are such awesome ideas!! I love that you made something for him - homemade gifts are always the best. And I love that his gift to you was both wedding themed and Godzilla themed!

My husband and I are similar to you - we aren't really into giving each other gifts, but we usually end up going out to dinner or cooking a somewhat fancy dinner together. It sounds like what you did for your Valentine's Day was perfect!

Normally he gets me chocolate and I get him a candle. Gifts are easy between us!

We absolutely celebrate Valentine's Day!! We always have!! When we were first married, 37 years ago, I began making a special dinner for us especially since on our first Valentine's Day, which was 8 months after our wedding, I was already 5 months pregnant and there was a heavy snowstorm here! So, I started a tradition: I made a heart - shaped meatloaf (hubby loves my recipe), topped with ketchup, of course, and serve on a while lace paper doily. The side dishes were bow-tie pasta with an Alfredo sauce (in later years, I often make scalloped potatoes), and fresh steamed broccoli. Dessert is usually something made with fresh strawberries, and often heart cookies. I serve dinner on our best white linen tablecloth and use our white dishes combined with my collection of ruby red Depression glass side plates, glasses and serving pieces. And of course, there are candles, wine, flowers, usually red or pink roses from hubby and also a heart shaped box of chocolates.

We celebrate but nothing crazy. We write each other a sweet note and get a small gift. We usually order in and watch a fun movie. I think it's important to take moments to celebrate love ,it doesn't have to be on Valentines day though and it doesn't have to be anything extravagant. I still send Valentines to my parents just to say I love you and I appreciate you. The past few yrs have taught me anything can happen and you never know when your last moment with someone is so I try to celebrate love and relationships whenever I can. Hope everyone had a sweet Valentines day Smiley heart

Oh my gosh, the love notes is such a beautiful idea!! ♥ What types of movies do you watch in celebration? I also completely agree with your statement that it's important to celebrate love even when it's not a holiday!

Thanks!! We've had a lot of fun with it over the years, and folks tease me about the "heart-shaped meatloaf"!

As far as the movies go we try to find a cute one that will satisfy my love of rom coms/hallmark movies but that he ll enjoy too. One year was Love and Basketball, another year was Just Wright this year's movie was Always Be My Maybe on Netflix . It was a fun one!
