Celibate Until The Wedding Night

The Bride, on July 14, 2019 at 2:18 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 14
About 90% of the couples that are preparing to get married live together and may already be having sex. As a result many couples are choosing to be celibate until the wedding night. Are you? Why or why not?

"As a result"? Why would you decide to be celibate because 90% of other couples aren't?

    Perhaps that was poor wording.

What I mean is many couples have sex before marriage but are celibate a month to a year before the wedding night.

Ah, that makes more sense. I still wouldn't do it, but at least I understand the question.

If I could edit the original post I would. Hopefully others read the clarification before responding. So, were you and your wife celibate before the wedding or is that TMI?

Definitely not! I don't see the point. It seems more likely to make wedding night sex desperate than to make it special.

Heck yes! We plan to be celibate for about 60-90 days before the wedding.

Why are you and your future husband planning to be celibate before the wedding night?

    I wouldn't last! 🤣
Sex is a great tension reducer, between work and wedding I'll probably need to be less tense.
I also think it wouldn't improve anything for us specifically. We'll be tired after a long day, maybe even all sweaty after dancing, it wouldn't be good sex. Bad sex after a wait would be a let down!

Negative. Most couples I know aren’t even intimate on their wedding night so I don’t see the point.

Not us. Sex is one way for each of us to destress and we both need that. It also brings us closer and makes the bond feel more secure. Plus it just feels soooo dang good!
Celibate the morning of the wedding but that’s it!

Nope. I honestly don’t see the point. We’ve lived together for 7 years. We have 2 kids. To make each other wait a month or more for sex til the wedding night? There’s really no logical reason for that, in my opinion
