Center stone in my ring fell out and can’t find it!!

Molly, on March 14, 2022 at 1:21 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 5
So I woke up yesterday and as I was feeding my dogs I noticed the center stone of my ring was missing!! I searched up and down for it but can’t find it Smiley sad Has this happened to anyone else and if so, do you know where to start getting this resolved?

I do have it insured through Progressive but not sure how to even start a claim? I did have to get the ring sized down 1.25 sizes so I’m thinking that might be why it happened? It never appeared loose. HELP!! Center stone in my ring fell out and can’t find it!! 1

I'm so sorry that you're having to deal with this!! First, I'd scour my house for the stone. Turn on all the lights, and use a flashlight (or your phone's flashlight), get on your hands and knees and look really slowly. If you have any areas you think you may have lost it in, I'd start there. Go so so so slowly. The bright lights will help it glimmer and catch your eye better. Look under and around each thing - reeeeally slowly. You don't want to move something, and potentially toss it, or push it under something.

If you can't find it, I'm sure there is information on Progressive's website that can help you file a claim. https://www.progressive.com/claims/ Though, you may want to figure out if it's part of your homeowners or renters insurance policies, or if it is its own policy.

Best of luck! I'm so sorry you're going through this. That sounds like the most stressful situation.

Make sure you check your dogs’ poop!! They could have accidentally eaten it!

I did turn off the lights and had a flash light, but will try it with the lights on as well. Thank you for your input, very much appreciated. Fingers crossed I can find it!

Do you sleep in it? If you do, check your bedding carefully - it may be caught in a seam?
