Centerpiece frames

Elizabeth, on June 25, 2017 at 8:37 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 9

I want to use photos of us for our centerpieces. A framed photo and a vase filled with things representing that location. The problem is I can't find any good horizontal frames. I like this one, but it only comes in vertical. Has anyone done something like this and found an affordable (not $20 per frame) option for horizontal?

Ikea doesn't have a horizontal version of the Tolsby frame, but they do have this inexpensive frame which you could attach to a base of your choice. It comes in quite a few colors. You could glue two of them back to back to get a double sided frame like the Tolsby. They are less than $2 each.

I would just wander around the dollar store and find something to which you could glue the frame.

I'm using the frame you posted and painted them light pink. They are a great price and love that they are front/back. Could you maybe crop your pictures you want to use to fit these frames?

Thanks guys. I liked the idea of double sided so everyone could see the picture instead of the ugly back, but is that necessary? Does it matter? Is a normal picture frame just as good?

I don't think I can crop them. Worst case I can add filler on the top and bottom to make them fit, but then the photo would seem small and I think that'd look weird. Sounds like I'm making a trip to IKEA next weekend to visualize frames in person and see what we can make work.

You could look at commercial alternatives and order them plain with no logo or imprinting

This is our centerpieces (4×6) I'm printing out the 4×6 photos FREE off of shutterfly and I got the frames from Michaels. They normally retail for 1.99 I believe so I waited for the 40% off entire purchase coupon and the same with the flowers. Just gonna glue gun the frames together

@FrugalFiancee that's beautiful! I did see something like that with 3 which I liked. And then I could have a stand for the table number/location inside.

    Could you DIY?

Also, a place like hobby lobby may be of use to you.
