Centerpiece height

FMP, on August 14, 2016 at 1:46 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 9

Hi, everyone. I need some input. I'm trying to find silver candle holders that are the same height as the ones in this picture. How tall would you say these are (the tallest piece in the middle)?

If I had to guess I would say between a 12 to 18 inches.

I'm with Beach on the height. Do you think that size will block the view for your guests? Maybe do higher or lower...I hate sitting at a table and not being able to see the person across from me.

The size of one and a half wine glasses? I am so terrible with numbers. In my brain, 3 and 30 feet might as well be the same thing. But, judging based off the closest wine glass, my guess is one and a half glasses tall!

That centerpiece is cute, but it's too high. Guests will have trouble seeing over it. A good rule of thumb is shorter than 12", including the flowers (if they're the very tall kind that you're meant to look under, they steam should be taller than 24").

For these centerpieces, the silver candlestick/vase should be 6-8" at most. :-)

I figured that this height would kind of be annoying for the guests. I wanted tall centerpieces because the venue has vaulted ceilings, but the silver vases I found are $45 ea. for 24" which is WAY out of my budget. I might just go with clear glass vases that are 24" because they're cheaper.

You think clear glass would look okay with silver chiavari chairs and those linen colors?

You can always use Krylon silver spray paint on the clear glasses, it will look like you bought them that way!

Look online on how to use spray paint to get the glass vases to look like mercury glass.

So would it be acceptable to do 18" vases and then add 6" of height in flowers? Or do the vases have to be 24" by themselves?
