Centerpiece sizes

Anonymous, on November 2, 2011 at 11:57 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 9

I'm debating on whether or not to have 5x5" centerpiece vases with flowers or if I should have a larger centerpiece (maybe a 6x6 or 7x7) to go on our 10" round tables. I don't want the centerpieces to look too small but I also don't want them to look too big and take up too much room on the table. Any suggestions?

Also watch the height on your centerpieces. You don't want guest having to bob and weave in order to talk to each other.

I agree. You want your guests to still be able to talk to one another or not have a big distraction in front of them. I like the idea of different sizes. That's what I plan to do along with every other table having the same centerpiece.

It depend on the height and the shape of the vases also.......But I think that if you don’t want that centerpieces cover up most of the space of your 10” round tables then 5”x 5” centerpieces vases are perfect for them and if according to the height and shape you thing that 5”x 5” centerpieces vases looks like something is missing then go with the 6”x 6” centerpieces vases.....7”x 7” centerpieces vases would be too big for the 10” round tables.....

I am doing 20" Eiffel tower vases with orchid sprays and dancing pearls. That way it will be tall enough that guests will be able to see each other when they talk and it won't take up much room on the table. as the bases are only a couple of inches across.

10 inch round tables? Do you mean a table that seats 10 or 10 feet across?

I say with a table that big (assuming you meant 10 foot) you should go with at least the medium size 6x6. Or you could do the smaller ones but add more elements to the centerpiece like candles, table numbers, petals, etc. that will make their "spread" a little larger.

Thanks ladies! Yes, I will have 10 foot rounds. The venue that I'm having it at already includes votive candles. I'm thinking of doing the petals on the table. I think that's a good idea. I will have to check with my florist to see how much it would be to do the 6x6 vases.
