Centerpieces? All tables the same or no?

MattandMarie2015, on October 19, 2014 at 1:23 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 37

Hello WW Ladies! What are your thoughts on centerpieces? Does each table need to have the same centerpiece or can half have one look and the other half have something different? Our venue provides a mirror with 3 floating candles of varying height (similar to the pic). My thought was to cover them in vellum paper to jazz them up a bit and add rose petals around it and some votives. BUT I love lanterns as well and want to do some tables with the lantern, votives, and rose petals I can't afford to do lanterns on each table though (we have around 18-20 tables). Would it look ok to have some tables with the lantern centerpieces and some with the 3 piece floating candles?

I think it looks better with the same on every table, but I know there are a bunch of other WW ladies who are mixing it up. They have 2 options like you and are doing 1/2 and 1/2.

If you like the idea of mixing them then go ahead. There is no right way for centerpieces. Do what you think looks best.

Personally, I think it would be cool to have some of the tables have different center pieces. If you like it, I see no problem there.

I think its fine to have diff centerpieces as long as there is something that ties them together like similar colours, candles, flowers ect. Since both the votives and the lanterns will have candles I think it will be lovely.

I love the look of half & Half. I'm also doing the same thing due to not having enough lanterns for each table! I think the two centerpieces you picked will go very well together!

As a guest, I would never notice, either way, so do what you like.

All my tables will have the exact same centerpieces. The guest tables will be round and then the head table will be rectangular with the same centerpiece items, but played out differently.

They all will be similar, but I don't think they'll be identical!

I think your idea is fine.

I was told doing 1/2 and 1/2 gives a more dramatic look to the room

I actually have three different centerpiece styles, its what my florist suggested! Cuts down on the cost of having so many large centerpieces and adds more dimension! Here's an excerpt from my floral proposal.

Table designs will be split into 3 different styles:

    • 5 tall with hydrangeas, garden roses, etc., birch branches and pine

    cones

    • 5 short floral same style as tall but no branches

    • 6 candle trios using white pillar candles, and a few small vases

    with accenting flowers

So far mine will all be alike. They are not that high on my priority list. Simple votives with lace and ribbon around them, and have a tall hurricane with at taper candle in middle with similar decoration and flower petals sprinkled around it. Mirror underneath it all. Done.

Mine are going to be the same but with some color different. Some will have orange accent and some turquise accents.

    #1 for the rectangular tables

    #2 for the square tables

    #3 for the round tables

I love the idea you have! I think if your setting is similar on your tables but some just have the lanterns added on top, it will still look organized and really creative at the same time. I love the lantern idea! It's adorable (and can be expensive)!

We do it all the time. I had a bride with an unbelievable budget recently. She could have easily afforded five foot tall centerpieces on all of her tables. However, she wanted flowers everywhere -- for the at home shots having breakfast, the getting ready shots at the hotel, the ceremony, and all over the reception. The total table count was 22 -- seven of them 5 feet tall, nine of them 3.5 tall, and six of them low (not to mention her sweetheart arrangement, which was amazing). It looks terrific as long as the centerpieces are placed correctly to give a balanced visual impact. Go fot it.

I think I'm going to do the same vases and candles at every table, but have 2-3 different floral arrangements in the same color family.

Depends on number of tables. 10 and under similar centerpieces, over 10 different! In my opinion obviously

I'm doing half and half. Half high, half low centerpieces. I think it would be cute!

I like the look of having different centerpieces. I think as long as the are similar it adds to the room.
