Centerpieces? All tables the same or no?

Hello WW Ladies! What are your thoughts on centerpieces? Does each table need to have the same centerpiece or can half have one look and the other half have something different? Our venue provides a mirror with 3 floating candles of varying height (similar to the pic). My thought was to cover them in vellum paper to jazz them up a bit and add rose petals around it and some votives. BUT I love lanterns as well and want to do some tables with the lantern, votives, and rose petals I can't afford to do lanterns on each table though (we have around 18-20 tables). Would it look ok to have some tables with the lantern centerpieces and some with the 3 piece floating candles?

We are doing 6 tables with a yellow basket and napkin (going to hold rolls and flat bread), small glass lid mason jar w/ tea light, pottery with a rosemary plant in it, and lake superior stones around.

We are doing 14 tables with a red basket and napkin (going to hold rolls and flat bread), small glass lid mason jar w/tea light, glass vase centerpiece flowers, and lake superior stones around it.

We are doing 1 long harvest table (that seats 34) that has dark wire baskets with a napkin (going to hold rolls and flat bread), with clear glass jars (of different heights and shapes), flowers in some of the jars, and tea lights in some of the other jars down the middle on top of a kraft paper down the middle.

We actually did 3 different centerpieces and mixed and matched. We had a Wizard of Oz theme wedding.

    1. Normal floral arrangement (sorry - that is the best pic I can find)

    2. The second one was a bottle display with floral elements and green water that was "inspired" by the Oz scene

    3. And the third were 9 different floral pop up books with Wizard of Oz scene. So really, not very many tables were alike at all since 1/3 of them were all entirely different.

I definitely preferred mixing it up. But I think it really matters on the entire look of your wedding.

I like non-matchy, but there has to be a pattern and rhythm to it.

All clear glass. All different kinds of pink flowers. All milk glass but different shapes. Do you see where I'm going here?

The brain actually likes some relief from all the same, but it likes to find patterns. That's why your floral designer might suggest 1/2 highs and 1/2 lows - not just to help your budget, but it's pleasing to the eye. The pattern comes with using the same colors or the same flowers - just different heights.

We are doing two different centerpieces, I think it gives the room more dimension.

@MattandMarie2015 - I think those two centerpieces go together nicely. They play off of each other well.

We did about 10 tables with lanterns and 4 tables vase centerpieces (see through, with the flowers above everyone's head). It added some height to the décor. It was really nice and really helped "fill" the room.

I would mix it up. I have 3 different table centerpieces for 28 tables.

I think the half and half idea is neat. Maybe some with candles and some with flowers. I had all the same centerpieces on the guest tables with the exception of the head table being different. I have heard of some weddings that had all the same centerpieces but had numbers under them for door prizes. Not sure how it worked but it sounded really neat. I plan to look into it myself.

Half and half would look cool! I've been to weddings with different centerpieces and it looked completely fine =]

We did half high and half low. We reversed the flower colors in each - white hydrangea/purple roses with stock in the high vases and purple hydrangea/white/ivory roses in the shorter ones. We also did odd numbers of votives at each table with the purple/silver color scheme. I liked the overall look because I'm not a fan of matchy-matchy things.

I'm doing 2 different centerpieces as well- it'll be about 1/2 and 1/2. One with florals, one without! I plan to use candles to help tie it all together. You can totally make your idea work!
