Centerpieces for March wedding

Nicole, on January 14, 2012 at 12:50 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 9

I am having trouble figuring out what I want to do for centerpieces. We have thrown around the idea of christmas tree balls. I found a picture of a shaped reord but I'm not sure what I could do with it. There's a picture at this web page

I love the idea... but not for March... I thought the same thing. Since its all on clearnce at this moment. Your weddings on St. Patty's Day... So I would fill a tall vase with shamrocks and water and add a floating candle on top. Thats if Greens your color

    Hi Nicole ~

How many tables are you working with? What is your budget for decorations? and as Christina said, colors? mood? atmosphere? did you have some kind of theme going?

Do you have a music theme? Does the records make sense with your wedding?

Well have 17 or 18 tables and I don't really have a set budget for the decorations. We're having a pretty laid bak reception...come have fun and enjoy yourself nothing uptight or extremely structured. Or colors are black and purple but we are throwing hints of green in places (our memorial vases have green flowers and in the pew flowers are Kermit mums). No music theme jut thought the idea was really cool.

What is your budget for the wedding then? 25K... 7K..... 3K.....?

If you have $800 to spend on JUST table decorations and you have 18 tables, that is $44 a table. If you can only afford $300 on table decorations - 18 tables = $16 a table.

Kinda need a ball park idea so we don't show you $115 - $300 centerpiece ideas.

With black as a color, the records could work if you are in to that. Clearance silver and purple ornaments in the bowl could be a neat look.... you could also see if you can find any of those battery operated strands of lights for mini trees to put In the bowl.

You could also make a stand out of them and use that as a centerpiece with candy on them. Food on display is pretty laid back.

It doesn't appear you can get much into the bowl if you wanted to fill it with ornaments.... This gives you an idea of how many can fit in, I don't really care for the picture, but that is all I could find right now.

With flowers is nice. But flowers do add to your costs... and I don't really care for the look of these silks either.. look too fake for my taste.

Hit up the garage sales to get the records.... $.05? $.25? per record? = $5? or less?

It ALSO looks like it is 2 records per centerpiece. They did the wavy bowl and put it upside down, and then had an LP resting on top of it. so = $10 in LPs?

On top of the record you will need something to raise the mini fish bowl. I suggest you go to dollartree.

Get the candle sticks and the bowls. Check, they may deliver them to your local store for free for pick up.

    www.dollartree.com/catalog/product.jsp?productId=65171

    www.dollartree.com/party-supplies/Catering-Supplies/Crystal-Fluted-Ivy-Bowls/207c348c348p9885/index.pro?method=search

order 2 cases and have extras for the head table and cake table and whatnots.....

    Votives around it all.... 6 per table = 108 = 3 cases

    www.dollartree.com/kitchen-tableware/catering/2-ct-Poured-Glass-Votive-Candles/213c303c303p302116/index.pro?method=search = $156

Some gorilla glue to attach them together. = $5

Gives you $129 for flowers. $7 per table.

For my son's wedding (which was also in March), they used books in the centerpieces. They borrowed several boxes of books from his father, so the cost was minimal.
