Hi all, I’m trying to do a lot of planning way ahead so that I can hopefully stress a bit less haha! What are everyone’s thoughts on real flowers and fake flowers on your centerpieces on your tables at the reception? Thanks!

I think fake flowers can look really cheesy. If you don’t want real flowers, maybe find other items altogether to decorate the tables depending on the style of the wedding. Use candles, and other items- ie shells/beach glass for beach wedding, vintage items for a Victorian theme, fake “diamonds” for a blinged out table

Actually that’s what I’m doing. So my date is 11/16/2022 we just engaged two weeks ago. However weddings are well...money...but we knew we were going to marry each other for the past three years- so I’ve been researching for three years even before we got mutually engaged lol but because of this now that we’re officially engaged I landed on a venue I love which took a lot of stress out. Because I can just focus on paying for the venue space and some of my guests. Next year will be more difficult because I’ll also be working on my last class for my bachelors and he’ll be working on becoming a radiation therapist for cancer patients. So it’s giving us that space and energy to really adapt and explore this new step and focus on being engaged to him as we low key pay for our venue. It’s actually very freeing.

Yes exactly! I do not want to spend hundreds or even thousands on flowers that will just go in the trash at the end of the night. Like you said, this way I can re sell and help another fellow bride! And your right, I also never notice or pay much attention to the centerpieces at a wedding. Thank you all for your tips and opinions!!

If you choose fake flowers, you can get them done way beforehand and that’s one less thing to stress about. 😁

Something Borrowed Blooms has really affordable, really nice silk flowers that you don’t have to be stuck with after the wedding and you don’t have to worry about shelling out a ton of money for real flowers.

I’m using fake flowers. I’m a doctoral student multiple states away from my home where i’m getting married, so i’m doing a lot of prep work here and when i got home intermittently. using fake flowers means that i can make my center pieces (i found these gorgeous and cost effective ones on pinterest and i am pretty crafty) ahead of time instead of being stressed about it 3 days before hand. also we’re going to let one person at the venue take the centerpiece home so then it’ll last longer and it’ll travel better too.
