Centerpieces with no flowers?

Missy, on January 14, 2019 at 11:39 AM Posted in Style and Décor 0 25
Anyone else doing non flower centerpieces? I don’t want to buy a ton of flowers only for them to die, and I also don’t want anything too flashy. We’re simple people. Just wanted to now if anyone else has done this? 🤗

I am using fake flowers, so I can't speak to your question exactly. But I've seen plenty of simple non-floral centerpieces using lanterns, candles, books, marbles/sand in glassware, etc. Pinterest has a lot of great ideas.

This is what I am doing. I’m hoping to find a neighbor with a eucalyptus tree for the cuttings and then my FH is building the wooden lanterns. I was having a difficult time finding pillar candles that fit in the glass vases that I bought so I decided to fill with water and use floating votives instead. Then, after the wedding I can try to sell the lanterns to recoup some of my costs!

We're going non-flower too for our centerpieces. We'll be something similar with pillar candles, birch rounds, pip berry garland and some fake greenery.

I am struggling with this too. I don't want to do flowers because they are so expensive, but I want it to be beautiful. We are simple too though, so I don't want it to be over the top. We are thinking of possibly doing different centerpieces at different tables - white lanterns with sand, shells and candles as some, and fishbowls with water, beads at the bottom, and floating tea lights. I don't know....my wedding is in May, and I'm kinda freaking out that we haven't decided Smiley sad

We did simple garlands using only greenery along with non-flame tea light candles. I think it looked elegant without being over-the-top or flashy.

I love flowers but gold candelabras fit our theme (and not bad for only about $20/each):

We didn't use flowers in our local reception either. That one was a 50's/60's swanky nightclub theme. We used vases with drop lights & feathers stuck into foam balls (our venue was so windy!):

I won’t be doing flowers either I don’t think. Something simple like a lantern with a battery candle (can’t have open flame at my venue) with maybe some greenery spread around the center part of the table

I plan on doing faux magnolia leaves and sola/balsa wood hydrangeas to make wreaths that guests can just take with them or I can distribute to the various family members. Great little keep sake that they can use in their own home all year or re-gift it to a neighbor or coworker.

I like the candles! Just make sure it is okay with your venue. Mine requires candles to be in a glass vase and the flame has to be two inches below the top!

This is very similar to what we did, even with the cobalt blue color! We had lights under the stones to illuminate them too and they were beautiful.

I haven't finalized the design yet, but we are doing candles, with some kind of sand/rocks. I can't afford flowers for every table!
